Scenic
A nice experience with a scenic view. Nice challenge, but not too hard. Course marked so first timers could find their way easily. Fairways are firm, greens are receptive and well kept. Great value on a budget. Would recommend course.
Fairways need work
First time playing golf here,
Fairways need a lot of work lots of spots with hard pan and no grass, lots of spots with crab grass. Instead of turf
Greens were well maintained but slow compared to others in area
Next will probably play other courses in area as they are better maintained.
Peaceful Laurel Valley
Loved the scenic beauty of the of the Smokies surrounding the course. The course was forgiving yet challenging. The greens were receptive to long approach shots, while the fairways were a bit dry do to the lack of rain. I would definitely play the course again.
Diamond in the Rough
My wife and I played this course and came away wishing that we had not made to drive to do so.
The course has no driving range inspite of being in the middle of nowhere. It also doesn't have a real practice green or sand trap. It is a "hit it in the nets" to loosen up course. If I had realized that, we never would have made the drive.
This course is in an amazingly beautiful valley . . . but the fairways and tee boxes are not well maintained.
The Greens are great, but it is clear that this club is struggling finacially.
The course needs watering and T.L.C.
For example, it was almost impossible to stick a golf tee into the ground on many of the tee boxes becuase they were as hard as rock.
Far too many of the fairways were bone dry fast go cart tracks. With water, they could be so great. Speaking of water, there are no water jugs on the course and many of the ball washers are broken.
If you live in the area and want to save money, this is the course for you.
If you take your golf seriously, spend more and go to a course that is better maintained and has proper warmup and practice facilities.
I want to fall in love with this course. It has so much darn potential. I hope that someone will pump money into this course and spruce it up.
It could be such an amazing course . . .
The fairways and tee boxes where in bad shape
I like the course but it needs irrigation and fertlizer .The greens where in great shape. The fairways where like hitting off of pavement.
Wonderful Smoky Mountain Golfing
Laurel Valley golf course is nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. This is a great course to play for those visiting the area. The views are incredible, the staff is friendly, and the course is enoyable to play.
Decent
Greens were in good shape however fairways were not. Hopefully once it gets warmer the course will be better. The layout is great.
wet course
The course was wet/muddy . can't wait to play it again this summer when it's dry. Do wish the bar had been open the view from club house was so peaceful.
Great Value!
I played Laurel Valley with my 15 year old daughter and the course was fun for both. I was pleased with the overall condition of the course for late November. $38 total for the 2 of us through Golfnow made it an incredible value!!!
Great Mountain Course Laurel Valley Townsend TN
Great course with various elevations. Some forced carries and bunkers. The course is in good shape. Don't know what will happen to it. Was up for auction the day after I played. Will play again, if new owners keep it up.
The sign at the entrance does not lie. There were bear droppings on some of the fairways.
If your ball goes into the rough, you might want to just drop another.
many different challenges on this course
this course has been a favorite of ours for many years spring and fall are the most enjoyable always in pristine condition many slope changes right and left turns to navigate premiums on placements very sorry to here course to be auctioned on November 1st 2014 a must play before gone
Hidden gem
Great course, good value and a good challenge for all golfers. For first timers, you will have to see how each hole is layed out, where to hit, where the hazzards are if any, since the score card does not provide a course layout for each hole.
Beautiful setting
My son & I played this course for the 1st time on Saturday . We loved the bear sign at the entrance and enjoyed playing all 18 holes. Only disappointment would be that no water coolers were available on any of the holes.
Scenic mountain course
The staff was friendly, the course was in good shape. Fun, yet challenging and a good value! Very nice atmosphere with beautiful scenic views.
Wow and not in a good way
First of all the staff was awesome, top notch! The course was not fun, very confusing tees and signage. Pace was good. Lots of bear scat, I'm not saying pick it up, but maybe push it off tee boxes and greens. As far as course, it is tight and tough, so if you are looking for a challenge this might be for you, I just wouldn't pay full price for green fees.
beautiful secenry
played 18 holes the course was in great condition the staff was very nice and helpful, did not have food but i am sure it would be great
ps had a great time and will ho back.
Great views
After many years visiting the Seiverville Tenn area this was the first time we played the course. It is very female friendly which my wife enjoyed. There are some very challenging par 3's. We played during the week and the pace was excellent. This is not a resort course but was great to play for the value.
beautiful setting the mountains
good course, will be fantastic in the fall, fairways in good shape greens a little fuzzy, wildlife abundant, wildflowers as well
golf vacation
Really nice course. The club house staff could be friendlier as they seemed kind of put off by having to engage patrons.
Much improved fairways
Course was reseeded early this year and drought stunted growth. Now the fairways are excellent. I find the course challenging. 1st hole is narrow fairway which twists left then right to green. I find the greens on small side with some slope which challenges the average golfer. Great views!!!
