Just okay
Michigan Meadows has a decent layout and some challenging holes, but overall is just okay. Bumpy cart paths and old bunkers/sand traps that are now just overgrown weeds and grass. With any rain they become tiny ponds and a haven for mosquitoes.
Could be great
Used to be one of my favorite courses to play.. good layout for your average golfer and can’t beat the price. They always have great staff in the clubhouse and bar! The problem is, there is no maintenance at all right now.. losing balls in the fairway because it’s closer to a cut of rough than fairway.. tee boxes and greens are in really bad shape.. with some maintenance it could be restored to one of the great amateur courses in st Clair county.
Mosquitos and dust
Millions of mosquitoes and flies in the course, I didn't bring repellent and got bited really badly.
The unpaved gravel cart path generates a lot of dusts, our golf bags were covered full of dust.
All the bunkers turned into weedy smelly ponds due to lack of maintaines. I guess that's why there are lots of mosquitoes in the course.
Won’t be back
Course was a water logged mess. Cart path only. Pace of play was terrible needs a ranger. Got stuck behind 2 men and a young boy. They were doing best but had to wait on every shot. Couldn’t get by them. They never let our twosome past. Finally jumped ahead on 11th Tee boxes are dirt. Fairways are tight as they can’t cut all the fairway. Not their fault due to water but I think this is regular. If it wasn’t for the good deal on golf now not worth it.
Terrible meadows
Terrible course wouldn’t even play for free if that was possible. Shouldn’t be allowed to scam people of their money for this disastrous course. Would rate this course 0/5 stars if possible. Greens were terrible fairway was cut the same length as the rough. Absolutely terrible
New management
Course is under new management. Old reviews were rough. Ranger was helpful. Was telling my group about the renovations over the last couple years. Course was in good condition. Price wasn’t bad. Only issue we ran into was pace. We got in early, and there were 4 groups waiting. So it got behind early. But it steadied out after the par 3 at #2.
Great course
I always love playing here. Great service. Pace of play was on point.
Disappointed
There was actually nothing good on the course
Did not even put out on the weed infested greens
I will never play again would not play there for free
Greens were so bad most holes we didn’t even finish putting
Rough and fairways were almost the same (Bad)
Very unorganized 4 or 5 groups in line at the counter waiting for the guy eating his lunch no starter
Nice course
There are some really picturesque holes. Not too many hazards but enough to make it challenging. Greens need some tending - moss, bugs, patchy spots. But overall pretty good. Of course, the signature hole's green is shaped like the lower peninsula of Michigan. A few holes are carved out of the trees but fairways are wide enough for relatively straight shots - with some forgiveness. I enjoyed and will play again.
A hot mess!
There wasn’t much that was good about this course on Monday. The pace of play was excellent, considering I was the only one on the course.
The tee boxes were poor at best, not one flat one on the course. A couple of them did not have the markers on where to tee off from. The fairways were indistinguishable from the rough. The greens were the slowest things I have ever played on.
One other good thing about Michigan Meadows were they have new carts.
I would not recommend this course.
