Fern Hill Golf & Country Club

Pace was great, course in great shape. I love this golf course, tight and challenging with greens that roll well.

This is one of my favorite courses in South East Michigan.

Staff is great, pace is great, course is great. They spend lots of time getting course ready.

Fern hill is solid if you get an ok deal. I've played it many times. It's excellent when it is empty but can become annoying when it's full. Both the front and back 9 have spots where 3 fairways run next to each other so if any one shanks a ball it's a hazard and slows down pace of play. On the front 9 this occurs on hole (2,4,5). On the back 9 this occurs on holes (11,12,13). I wouldn't pay more than 25 bucks for 18 holes here. That price can get you 18 at a much better courses that are somewhat near by. Staff is very friendly.

They do a good job keeping up the course. Very few leaves for this time of the year. Not my favorite lay out. Some holes very short, some like no.5 has a oddly placed tree.

Beautiful day, course was in good condition. Would go back in a heartbeat.

It's is impossible for management not to see the horrible condition of the cart paths. The only real knock against this course this day.

Booked a 10:30 tee time on a Tuesday I didn't even get to tee off until 11 they so overbooked everything we were waiting 25 minutes at every Tee Box no Rangers on the field to regulate play I booked for 18 I stopped after whole 10 because it was already four and a half hours it was completely and utterly stupid there was no drink cart or water out on the course the sprinklers were running Non-Stop I don't even really want to talk about it anymore it was a complete and utter waste of my money I'm upset I even spent half price on it using golfnow.com

I was impressed with the condition and the layout is pretty nice for a "city course." The value is fair based on its proximity to major suberbs. The staff was friendly and Floodz (the onsite bar and reataurant) was a great place to have dinner and drinks. What soured my round was the pace of play. I had a prearranged tee time of 6:30 and when I got to the first tee at 6:30, there were 2 groups on the box already. The entire round was a series of long waits because of the volume of golfers they allowed out.

The course was in a good and green condition. The sprinklers were on in several places so we had to tee off from places other than the tee box. There were a couple very slow twosomes in front of us and also one Dad trying to teach his two sons ages 5 & 9 to play. It was agonizingly slow until they let us play through.

This course could be nice, however, the pace of play and the poor course condition really irritated my whole round. The course was very dry, like it has not been watered all season. The greens were very firm. My 60 degree wedge shot to the hole did not leave a mark on the green. My wrist was sore from hitting a couple fat shots on the fairway, even tho it was a shot off the fairway. There was a foursome, a single, a twosome, and us (a threesome). The back nine bottled up and took us 3 hours to finish. The staff was very friendly, but the poor pace of play and poor course conditions will not bring me back to this course.

Several types of holes, really fun to go though.

it is a good course, but unfortunately they overbook , and it was really slow play. The fairways were ok, but the greens were extremely slowwww..... they needed to be trimmed down a lot. Also , the greens were littered with debris, leaves, etc from the surrounding trees and shrubbery. The least the management can do it blow off these debris once in the morning. Otherwise, everything was ok.

I've never seen the course in better condition. Kudos to the groundskeepers.
