West at Warren Valley Golf Course

About
Warren Valley Golf Club in Dearborn boasts two 18-hole courses designed by Scottish architect Donald Ross. The courses are some of Ross' first designs in Michigan. The par-71 West and par-72 East Courses both have traditional layouts that sprawl across rolling hills before settling along the banks of the Rouge River. There are several scenic holes on both courses that play alongside and across the river. The West Course has tree-lined fairways but they are generous and the greens are open and inviting. Tricky doglegs are shaped by the trees or the river. The river comes into play more on this course than the East, on seven holes to be exact. The bunkering is minimal but there is a surprising variety of elevation changes that will keep you on your toes.

Amazing value. Freshly renovated.
I was in town for an event in Dearborn and saw this come up at a very reasonable price. When I showed up, I was surprised to see that all of the amenities were fully renovated with brand new carts, and the course condition was very nice. I didn’t have any traffic ahead of me and I finished in three hours by myself. I would happily come here again. It was a very fun layout. Slightly confusing at times, but that was only because it was my first time here. I will happily come play again the next time I am near Dearborn.
Great local course!
This is going to become one of my regular courses to play now! Apparently they have renovated the course extensively over the past couple years and it really shows. They pride themselves on having faster greens than most courses in the area, and I particularly appreciated that the rough areas seem well maintained throughout the course. The only current knock on them is they are still waiting for some approvals to get their food and beverages fully functional, so you’re limited to basic snacks in the pro shop currently.
Dog track
Course is a dog track. Very poorly maintained. Two holes had no grass just dirt as fairways. Only good thing was pace of play. Played 18 in 3 hours but also no one was there on a 72 degree and sunny Saturday which shows you what people think of the course.
Pretty good track
It’s clear they’re working hard to create a quality golf experience. The clubhouse is attractive, and the starter does a good job spacing out tee times to keep play moving at a comfortable pace.
The course itself is on the shorter side, but the holes are well designed and enjoyable to play. My only minor gripe is that carts aren’t allowed in the parking lot. It’s not the end of the world, but having to carry clubs from your car is a bit of a hassle—especially since this isn’t exactly a top-tier facility where such restrictions feel justified.
The bigger drawback is that the layout doesn’t return you to the clubhouse at the turn. If you want to stop for a drink or snack, you’ll likely lose your spot and cause a backup on the 10th tee. To make matters worse, there was no hot food available during my visit.
On the plus side, the price is reasonable. I’d gladly play here again—but probably only if I could snag a hot deal.
Broke 100 (99)
Did great off of red tees. 18 birdies will not count it. Oh well.
Solid course
If I was evil, I would say bad things about Warren Valley to keep folks away. I enjoy myself. Became my favorite course.
Amazing Team
First time playing and the course layout is amazing. But the best thing about this course is the staff. I lost my phone on hole 7 and the staff helped search for it as well as took my email and other ways to contact me. Dave was an amazing help and it was great to shoot a few holes with him.
They even allowed me to use a cart when i came back with another device to locate it.
Also saw the bev cart at least 3 times. Im lucky to see a bev cart once at most courses around here
A great course.
After a few years being neglected it is coming back to life. Scotty the starter is a lot of fun. Been told soon a simulator will be installed. Cannot wait.
Warren Valley
Great course, amenities and service. I play here 1 to 2 times every week.
Great staff and fun course
The most friendly and helpful staff anywhere. It was a fun course to play.
A little slow, but not bad for 4th of July.
