Gaylord Golf Club

FUN track with plenty of elevation change to challenge golfers. Greens had been punched a day or so before, so the greens weren’t perfect, but did roll consistently throughout our round. Nice bar and snack shop too.

Love Gaylord Golf Club. It has 5 sets of tees and is perfect for every golfers. Challenging but not too difficult and a beautiful layout. The day we played it had rained the morning of and we also got hit with a 20 minute downpour in the middle of the round. After that the sun came out and we continued to play. Course absorbs the water well as we did not have any course restrictions. Unfortunately the ice storms back in March/April really damaged many of the majestic old pines throughout the course. The did a major cleanup earlier in the year but you can still see the toll that this once in a century storm took on this course. The course fairways and greens were in great shape and it's a great course to start out on your golf trip to Gaylord, MI. Highly recommend it!

I played a round there on a Sunday afternoon and for the first five holes it was wonderful. After that, I ran into groups of two that shouldn't be allowed on golf courses. The pace was so slow and exasperating that I had to leave after 14 holes. there is no Marshall on the course and no way to make these people move at an acceptable pace of play. The course itself was in good conditions and the greens are perfect. The layout is park like but still has elevation changes that make it interesting.

A few foursomes in front of us taking way too long on the greens. Had to wait on every shot on the back 9

I'm sad to say that this was not a great expereince.

There was no Starter. On a Sunday there were several groups of 2 which would seem fine, however there was a single player in the middle of this and play was so slow. We should have been matched up in 4 somes.

Course was in nice shape. Very generous senior/front/Junior tees. Great for those that only want to hit 200 yards for whatever reason.

Great course and layout especially for the price. Only complaint is I completed the front nine in less than two hours however, the back nine took almost 3 1/2 hours. Not sure what the problem was but I would definitely play the course again. just need better pace of play system.
