Golden Hawk Golf Club
About
Golden Hawk Golf Club is an 18-hole course in Casco Township, which is just south of Richmond. You won't find too many elevation changes throughout the course but you will encounter plenty of water. There are also 36 bunkers coming into play on 12 holes. The course isn't particularly long at 6,117 yards from the back tees, but the par 4s offers some good length and the ample room off the fairways gives the course a spacious feel. The fairways are generous and quite forgiving, but golfers will face tough approaches to the greens, which are often nestled into the woods or bordered by ponds. The slightly elevated, undulating putting surfaces require accuracy. Golden Hawk Golf Club is a fair test but it's player friendly enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence.

7/31/17 round
Had a great time! We are repeaters. The staff is always friendly. Asked for two cups of ice and received them with a smile. The Turkey reuben was excellent. Even parred thev18th hole! Overall it was a very enjoyable experience.
Seems like a sleeper!
We have played this course before but this round stood above many others. The weather was perfect. Our tee time was 11:56 on a Sunday, so pace of play was suspect. Well, my partner & I completed 18 holes in just under 3.5 hours, the course was in very good shape. This course is plenty challenging for all skill levels depending on the tee boxes you choose.
Pin placement ridiculous
The course was in good shape for the amount of rain we have had, cart paths were very muddy but the course was OK. The speed of the greens did not match where the pin placements were the day we played. Greens were fast and true but almost every pin placement was placed on a downslope or upslope and impossible to get close to. Probably the reason it took 5 hours and 10 minutes to play. We were backed up on every hole (two to three groups on every hole). I have played this course at least 20 times in the past and never ran across these conditions before. The course maybe needs to look at the pin placement to help address the slow play.
mud run
an ok course with a nice layout, the only problem is that they had many inches of rain in the previous few days, resulting in a cart path only situation.here was the problem..the cart paths had huge potholes all over them and they were covered in massive puddles-we were sinking 6-10 inches deep in water on the paths!a couple of holes were virtually unplayable, with a good drive down the fairway ending up in 6 inches of water in a 10 x 20 yard pool of standing water.i think I would like this course when it dried out, just did not know the conditions were so bad
Great course
Even though course was covered with water due to heavy rain 2 days prior, course was in excellent condition. It's actually in great condition year round. One of my favorite courses to play.
Frosted Staff at 40 degrees.
It was over 40 degrees in the morning but play was halted due to frost? Staff were less than diplomatic about allowing people to walk on the grass or use the driving range Matt area. After starting 2 hours after the scheduled tee time, the course was nice. There was no beverage cart. So after 7 hours at the course we were eager to leave and get a soda. The course layout is fun, and the pace was not too bad once we got started.
Always Slow
I have played this course a half a dozen times. I love the course itself and how beautiful the surroundings are. However on every occasion that I have booked a round at this course I have not once been able to tee off at my scheduled time. Now I understand a couple of times was due to heavy frost in the mornings, and i get that. But the other times have all been due to lack of spreading out the tee times. Each time I've played my tee off time has been delay on average 45 minutes because there are 6 other foursomes ahead of me that have been delayed because the tee times are not getting spread out enough. Sad to say but I will not be booking any more rounds at this facility.
over booking
arrived for 11:20 Am tee time was told there is a 45 minute back up but was not told why except slow play. checked in with the starter, and found out there was a golf outing going on. I could not believe a course would offer tee times with a outing at the same time. I played 9 holes at 3:30 minutes and left. I generally play this course twice a year but will not return. If courses want to know why they are not making money, and people are losing interest in golf it is because of the all day time it take to play a round. Please get Rangers on the courses to help speed up play 18 holes in 4 hours should be the norm
very nice course
Was very impressed with this course. Everything thing about this course was 5 stars. Greens, fairways, bunkers and tee boxes were all in great shape. I really enjoyed the layout of the course. This was my first time here but ill be back many times in the future.
fall golf
the vargo company did a great job maintaining this course this year. we played in 50 degree weather and had a good track.
Been awhile
First time here in a couple years, and we will be coming back. Course was in great shape and was nice day with my son and friends. Only downside we had to follow a group of 5 guys playing together. We weren't in a hurry so we were ok with it but don't know if others would be.
Surprisingly Plush
We were pleasantly surprised that the course was so green and manicured. Especially after playing so many courses that were burned out due to the heat and lack of rain. The pace of play was great. We teed off at 12:30pm and finished the 18 holes by 3:40pm.
The hot dogs are good too!
Fair challenge.
Huge storm night before, so course was quite soggy and many traps were lakes. All in all the course was playable.
Good Course Great Value
Course was in great shape. Its a fun course with just the right amount of challenge.
