Sugar Creek Golf Course
About
Sugar Creek Golf Course offers some of the best scenery of any course in the St. Louis area. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the course's elevated tees. The course opened in 1990 with several improvements made in the following years. The layout is a manageable length at just under 6,100 yards. It is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence but there are also challenges in store for more advanced players. Water only comes into play on one hole but there are stands of trees lining the narrow fairways. The golf course will generously reward accuracy and good strategy though it is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. In addition to the course, Sugar Creek G.C. also boasts an expansive practice range with 35 hitting stations.

A place to play.
If you have to play and you don't want to pay much, this is the place to go. The greens are aerated but they need a lot more than that.
Moo
Not sure where to begin...upon arrival the clubhouse was locked at 8:45a, that sent an immediate red flag. Check in was quick and efficient, course lacks the knowledge of a bonafide groundskeeper, there is obviously a funding issue based on the conditions. Both fairways & greens need quite a bit of professional help. Course layout was great, challenging but not overwhelming.
Course has Great potential overall but tons of $ needed to get things back to acceptable standards, very scenic area was a plus if any...For the price i guess i did ok $15-18holes/cart
Great course to hone your accuracy
People seem to dislike this course, but they're overlooking its inherent value. It's not an easy course for an inexperienced golfer. You have to stay continually aware of elevation differences, and think about how they affect your club choice. This is a really fun course. We played on a cold Sunday in March after some heavy rains. Considering every course in Fenton floods, this one was impeccable. The differing elevations must provide great drainage because the greens were solid and the fairways weren't waterlogged. This is the perfect course to hone your accuracy on, because there are usually woods or houses on both sides. It really tests your shot shaping abilities too. The cart paths are a little rough, but besides that, I would recommend this course to golfers trying to improve their game. Don't pass on this course just because of bad reviews, you'll really miss out on a great day of golf!
Sugar Creek
The course has a great layout; however, there are several temporary greens and several were in very bad shape. Once they get filled in the course will be outstanding. There is much work being done to clean up the course to allow easier play. I really enjoyed the round and would play again.
Course to overselves
You can't complain about the price. Hopefully the greens improve with the weather.
Sugar Creek
Course was in poor condition. Greens and tee boxes are a mess and two holes had temporary greens in the fairways.
It's worth the money.
Actually the greens are getting better over the winter. Still have a ways to go. Still had a great time.
Getting better
Greens still in bad shape three of them not playable flags in fairway other greens need to be cut. But course should be ok next year
Worth $15
We didn't get stuck behind anyone. There were greens being repaired. Some greens were in pretty rough shape. Overall, it is an okay course. It has a few weird holes, but has some driveable par 4's. I play here every couple of years.
Greens are coming back
Love the course layout. Great for short hitters who favor accuracy over distance. Greens were really hurt this summer but are coming back.
Disappointed
The course was completely tore up. 3 or 4 of the holes the green was in the fairway and all greens were diseased and spots of water grass. Course was not watered, hard as a rock. The tee boxes take all you have to put in the tee, needed a drill.
Potential but a long way to go
Several holes were put in the middle of the fairway because the greens were closed. Beautiful surroundings, great layout, terrific potential, but such a long way to go to get there. I'll go back if they can get it fixed up.
needs a year of tlc
I really enjoyed the course layout the elevation changes it's a really fun track. The greens are just in really bad shape and the rest of the course could use some water I'm sure that if they take care of it it will be a great course in about a year
Awful
I knew I was never coming back on the first hole. The greens might as well be bunkers with all the sand on them. Traps and clay and hard rock. Sand and rocks all over fairways as well. Cart paths barly drivable. Could go on
Bad greens
Greens aren't in good shape. Some of the tee boxes needed work as well. The fairways were decent, but when you're putting on dirt most of the round what's it really worth?
Good value for the money
I played the course with a Hot Deal, so it is a good value. Course is somewhat shorter than others (played the white tees), but is still interesting to play.
Fair ways are mostly okay, but some of the green are in bad shape (to be kind). Some of the greens are covered with weeds and bumpy.
Course marshal is friendly.
Will play again.
