About
Sugar Creek Golf Course offers some of the best scenery of any course in the St. Louis area. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the course's elevated tees. The course opened in 1990 with several improvements made in the following years. The layout is a manageable length at just under 6,100 yards. It is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence but there are also challenges in store for more advanced players. Water only comes into play on one hole but there are stands of trees lining the narrow fairways. The golf course will generously reward accuracy and good strategy though it is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. In addition to the course, Sugar Creek G.C. also boasts an expansive practice range with 35 hitting stations.

Disappointed
Fairways were liked packed dirt. First cut was deep enough yo lose your ball right off the fairway. Greens were in poor shape
Go somewhere else
From tee to green the course was in a horrible shape there were fairways were burnt up the greens were burnt up they were slow the tees were horrible and the cart paths will knock your teeth out from all the bumps

Awful
The course was in awful condition. The fairways were mush and weeds, the rough was long and uneven, there were so many places where you hit a blind shot and if it went in the rough it was impossible to find. Some of the tee boxes were pure mud with a few weeds mixed in and were unplayable. The course was cheap, but you get what you pay for
We're sorry you didn't have a great experience playing the course. We've been hit with a ton of rain and have been working to get the course in better shape. Come back again.
Good course
Nice course overall, I would recommend more bathrooms on the course and more water jugs maybe every 3rd hole especially for hot summer months.

You get what you pay for
The greens were OK, but the overall course conditions were the worst I'd ever seen for this time of year. On the plus side, I only paid $20 so for that price....what can you expect?
We've been working on improving the course conditions and are currently offering tee time specials online! You can play for less than $20 during the weekdays, hope you give us another shot!
You Get What You Pay For
The price was right: $21 (with a cart) on the weekend. The course layout is interesting, too. Lots of up and down, some doglegs, water. The downside is that the course is not well maintained. The fairways were spotty, the greens were really slow, and the bunkers were not raked. The have a good selection of beers at cheap prices on the 19th hole.

Not Good
The course is poorly maintained with poorly cut fairways with high grass/weeds along edges of fairways. Chances of finding your ball in rough along fairways was slim. I lost at least 9 balls that should have been playable shots and found at least 20 balls. Sand traps were sand less with weeds growing.

Will play again!
The course layout is great! Some really fun par threes. Although some holes were tight on the right side of the fairway due to housing. This course has a lot of elevation change but also some flat holes. The biggest issue was the cart paths, they were the worst I had seen. But it looked like some reconstruction plans were in the works. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely play this course again, could beat the price. I've paid more to play on worse.

Greens better, BUT TOO SLOW
Course in much better shape than years past.. However, to get to the next level and make it a place people will return. Tees need to be level and the fairways and rough require maintainence on a more consistent schefule. Also, the greens are way... Too Slow.. Takes the enjoyment out of the course and prevents a player from scoring. Staff is very friendly and believe the new management is making positive changes. If they could just mow the greens every weekend and keep them rolling above a 7 it would be a great area to focus and will bring people back.. Tees and Greens are the challenges they face to make this a spot in Jefferson County that folks will frequent.

Like course but fairways and t-boxes subpar
I always liked this course but given the cool weather and adequate rain we've had recently, I was surprised the course wasn't in better shape. Lots of sparse grass on the fairways and the red t-boxes were not in good shape. I would play the course again and hope for better course conditions.

Great course for the price
I have played this course numerous times over the last 6-7 years and it is definitely in the best shape it has ever been in. The greens are in great shape, the driving range is now open and they bought new golf carts not too long ago also. Highly reccomend and there are some neat up and down hill holes that can be challenging as well.

Friendly staff and a challenging course
This course had some challenging holes that were fun to play. I would recommend this course.
Absolutely Horrible!!!!
Having not played this course in a while, I was shocked. I used to really love playing here, not today. If you play here you are wasting money. Mud, terrible cart path, fairways in horrific shape. The only thing nice about today was the weather. I hope things change soon!
Tough course conditions could be
Condition of the cat path was poor, but it is early season to judge. Very challenging course

lots of mud, no grass
There is hardly any grass anywhere in the course.
The fairways were not only for many, there were no good spots anywhere on the course to place your ball. Maybe in the summer, grass will come in, but for March and April, not going to happen

Double Booked Course was packed
Staff was rude and clueless. Course was so busy it was horrible. 5 1/2 hr for a round. My 1st time there. Worst cart paths I've ever seen on a golf course. Course was half dead, no grass on tees, fairways all brown and muddy, dead spots on greens. Yea it was cheep and maybe that's why. Id rather pay a little more and go to a course that's in better shape. Stay away from this place. No GOOD!!!

Double Booked Course was packed
Paid a decent rate to play with 3 of my friends. We get to the clubhouse and after talking to the guy behind the counter, which was very rude, he told us there was an issue with online tee times and they were double booked. The course was soaking wet so we were on carts on paths. The paths were the worst cart paths Ive ever seen. Horriable and dangerous. Besides that the play was so slow it took us over 5 1/2 hrs to play 18 holes. Course wasn't in the best shape either. Dead grass everywhere, no grass on tees and dead spots on greens. My friends and I will not be back and the only reason we played was because it was cheep. Even if they paid us to play we still wouldn't come. Many of courses in the area that are a lot better!!!!!

Fairways and following greens
Just played 18 holes in what might be the best value in St. Louis.fairways and greens in excellent shape.the layout is unique,with some uphill tee shots and 1 blind tee off that drops onto the green below.
