Marsh Oaks is not an easy course.
Sure the conditions of the course and the carts and paths are a little rough but overall this is a pretty challenging course. With water or marsh on every hole you must hit your tee shots in certain spots or you will be fishing for balls all day. If you can get a HotDeal try out this old school course.
Over priced
I have played this course for years. Two things….$50 for twilight is ridiculous. Twilight should not be more than $20-$25. Secondly, for a regular round, Pace of play was almost 6 hours. Rangers didn’t care and said it’s beginning of golf season so everyone is out playing. People don’t want to be out there for 6 hours.
Money
$65 is Way overpriced for the course the course should be charging $45 or less . Then charge me $2.75 for a 20 oz bottled water. Let's be reasonable who visits your course.
Time to empty the porta-john
The course was wet but in very good condition.
The halfway house was closed along with the bathrooms.
One porta-john was full and the other didn't have any toilet paper.
Wife was not impressed so we're not going back for a while.
Nonsense
Booking the tee times they were WIDE open. Thinking it will be a quick round. It took 2.5 hours to play 9 holes. They had a league going and said they were backed up. The bigger issue was the groups in front kept looking and search for their balls. Took over 35 min for them to play hole 1&2 since they kept looking for balls and had no pace. We finally just asked them to please get a move on it and they did kind of. We literally replayed hole one 4x before they finished hole 2. Pace was absolutely terrible, no rangers on speeding anyone up. We paid for 18 and could not even get it in. Wasted our money on paying for 18 and could only get 9
Crowded
The course was overbooked. No one was being turned away. Our 12:35 tee time was delayed until almost 1 due to a backup. Waited on every hole and it took 7 hours to play.
Old Oaks is great again
Back in great shape after a year of rough terrain. Pace of play was also good.
