Not worth $20
No wonder we got a t time so easy when all other courses were packed. Absolutely unplayable. Terrible condition. Waste of $60. Never again!
Marsh is twice as good as the Oaks
There’s a fungus or dried out areas all over the greens. Watering has obviously not been added to their schedule.
Terrible course conditions. Greens, fairways in poor condition.
It’s hard going to courses like this for the money they charge you. I found most of the greens were very bad shape. They fairway’s worst. Not worth you time and money. Never again!
Worst public course in South East Michigan.
Absolute $#!& hole! Even at 10 dollars it would be a rip off to play this course. The owners should be ashamed
Backed up tees at 730 and multiple greens had dry dead patches. Not worth the $60 for thecondition of the greens.
This used to be decent
For the $13 I payed to play 18 was less than worth it. Granted we haven't had much rain, my only conclusion this course is such a dump is that they're not paying their water bill. No water no growth. No growth no maintenance. No maintenance no fun. Crustier than crusty greens. Fairways are half dead grass half dead soil. Tee boxes are like the rough at most courses. Just a complete s%*thole. Hacker special
Course in bad shape
Many greens and fairways need a little more than TLC. Tee boxes were not in good shape. Was disappointed in the conditions.
Not what it use to be
Went to Marsh Oaks because my dad was feeling a little nostalgic. He hasn’t played this course in over 15 years. According to him it was a really nice course, but the 15 holes we played yesterday was the complete opposite of a really nice course. This course has gotten so bad. Once the locals realize how awful of a course it is for the price they’re charging, this course will most likely go out of business.
The staff, cart girl, and starter were all pretty relaxed and welcoming.
The tee box, fairways, bunkers, and greens were a COMPLETE MESS. See my pictures. I don’t think they maintain their course anymore. There’s no way they should be charging $30 per person. Definitely not worth it here. This app won’t allow me to upload pictures but I had pictures of dirt spots all over the fairway, and on some holes, it was half the green!!
There was no ranger to enforce pace of play. There was a group of 3 that held up every single group behind them. Must have been at least 7 groups. Their first shot would be to the lady’s tee box. Their next shot would be into a hazard and they’d spend 5-10 minutes looking for their ball. We had 4 groups piled up at the 4th hole! Insane.
We had a tee time set and still couldn’t finish 18 because of that group of 3. Ranger was non existent. Wish I could get my money and time back from this course
This course is absolutely trashed. The greens are not green and are infected with dead scale looking grass. Fairways are trashed. Tee boxes are trashed. Would not recommend old oaks. Marsh oaks a little better but barely playable and I am not picky.
Course needs work
Fairways were in bad shape. Possibly from disease and excessive heat. Greens were for the most part in good shape. Sand in bunkers was non existent. There was an extremely slow group in front of us and not a marshal in site. The halfway house was closed and the beverage cart had no food for sale beyond a few candy bars.
The course is a challenge to play with a good bit of water and tight landing zones. Could be a premiere course if it were in better shape.
Wouldn't recommend
Course was in terrible shape. Fairways if you wNt to call it that was nothing but dry cracked dirt with patches of I think grass. Tee boxes and greens were the same. I'll never go back to that course. Wasn't worth the money I spent.
Marsh Junk!
I have played here many times before and I have never seen it in such poor shape. The tee boxes were just bare dirt and hard to find any grass to tee it up. Most of the greens were burnt, brown, cracked and dying! Bunkers have not been raked in forever. Its a joke that anyone would pay $65 for this course. Its a shame. I bought a Hot Deal and for $35 it wasn't bad on weekend but after playing I felt it is worth no-more than $25 no matter what day you play it. My advice is to stay away til they address this issues! Absolute trash of a course! I almost forgot too, while we were playing three carts roll up on us and drive through to jump holes. Younger men with no shirts on. Real classy place!
Had a tee time for old oaks
Had a tee time for old oaks and was supposed to be 40 dollars. Got to the pro shop and they over booked old oaks for my exact tee time and made us pay 60 dollars to play marsh oaks. Place is a joke. All about money. Pace of play is always terrible. Greens should be immaculate for 60 dollars a round every single green was dried out and had cracks. I'd love a refund.
