Splendid
Splendid day golfing with friends at this course. Nice views and well groomed fairways and greens. Maybe a little challenging for beginners.
It's been years
I don't know why we haven't played here in years but we will be back soon. The course was in great shape and the pace of play excellent. We had to let a twosome go by just so we could enjoy the day. I run a golf league and I just might set up our outing here.
Don't overlook this course.
The yardage says the course is short but plays much longer. Very strategic tight golf course. Definitely not for someone who sprays the ball everywhere. If you do bring a lot of golf balls. The scenery of this deep wooded golf course is fantastic.
Great round
Course was in very good condition, greens a little slower that most. Very beautiful course. Best place for the money I placed this season.
Nice Course!
Relatively short but very nice course. Staffs are very friendly and nice. I'll play again when I have another business trip to Detroit area.
Greens in terrible shape
great course design, but greens were in bad shape. Some spots had sitting water. Overall wouldn't repeat unless greens got better.
Difficult track for weekend golfers
Front nine moderate in difficulty, enjoyable in scenery and condition then the back nine bites you, with severe up,down and side hill lies not to mention the swamp and water carries. Have fun. Wonderful clubhouse, food and staff.
Quick round on a Friday afternoon!
Course was in good shape. The greens were a little slow but consistent. Two groups ahead of me let me play through as a single at the turn, which was a nice gesture.
Whispering Pines - Great course
First time playing Whispering Pines and it's definitely a great find! The course is set out nicely through a suburban setting but you don't really notice because of the beautiful tree lined fairways. The fairways are fair off the tee but you need to hit it accurately because the fairways are also very sloping and rolling. The greens also have more break than you see especially #15 & #18. Had my best round ever shooting 79! Definitely will be back, great course!
Fun course if you have some time
Nice challenging course. Greens were in rough shape today.
The pace of play was excruciating. Took almost 6 hours to play 18.
Fun Course, Excellent Condition
This course is in excellent condition. It has a little "Up North Michigan" feel with huge pine trees lining the fairways, especially on the back 9. Very impressed with the quality of greens and fairways.
I would play here again and would absolutely recommend it to others.
Love this course
This course is beautiful. One of my favs. We drive about an hour to go here. Worth the drive. Everyone always friendly.
Knowledge is key
Great condition! The starter worked with our group getting us off in front of a large outing! That was very appreciative! Having course knowledge is very important! There're a lot of blind tee shots. So knowing where to go off the tee is key to a good round!
Very nice greens 90% ready for spring
Some of the greens saw a bit of this rough winter, but other then that it is well put together. I did not eat the food but everything looked new and up to date.
great course
This course is tons of fun to play. Lots of elevation change in mostly wooded rolling surroundings.
The rates are spectacular and it's never crowded. If Pinckney is a reasonable drive for you, whispering pines should be a place you play regularly.
compared to Timber Trace
Course was in good shape, although some of the greens had some damage from offseason to them. Felt the course had a good design and was moderately challenging. The up north feeling of close competitor Timber Trace was not there nor was the separation of holes that Timber Trace provides.
Good course with green issues
Good course for a good golfer. The fairways are tight, beautiful scenery. The only problem I had was with the greens. You can tell they have no one taking care of the greens in the winter. Good course for $10 on golfnow
Some Tight Holes.
A few blind tee shots and some tight landing areas make this a challanging course. I really like it. Greens had some moss issues, that is the only negative I have about this course. Great facilities and staff. From the second I parked in the parking lot I was greeted and treated very well. I will play here again.
