A lot of blind shots
The greens were in good shape well taken care of. Tee boxes were in poor shape. Long grass, uneven, a lot of divots. The course was challenging to play. Definitely a course you have to play a few times. Fairways were tight with a lot of blind shots where you didn't know where to aim. Staff in the pro shop is not very friendly. We felt like a burden and wasn't very welcoming. This was the second time we played here and he was the same way. News flash. There are a lot of courses to play in MI. I don't need to try 30 minutes to play a course that doesn't appreciate my business. I can play at 8 other courses within 5 minutes of my house.
Neighborhood
Most holes play thur.. but no housed really in play also u dont cross holes at all which was nice
Excellent Course
Beautifully manicured landscapes and a challenging layout. The course punishes bad shots, and rewards good ones. Some tricky hard dog legs make you put the driver down and force a well placed iron shot to have an optimal line into the green
Not Amazing but Gets the job done. Nice Staff.
Played here a few times. Very friendly staff. Good value golf. Lot of fairways have slopes & elevation which can leave you in some difficult positions. On many holes leave the driver in the bag. Good test for your iron play.
whispering pines
if you want a challenge this is the course...you have undulated greens .. sloping fairways where several times the ball is below or above your feet …. we played from the whites and on a couple of holes you had to carry over a marsh … the greens were a tad slow .. not sure if it is the growing season or they keep it that way so you won't have a four putt depending on where the pin is placed... course was in excellent shape even after all the rain we been having …
Great value
This course is a hidden gem. The conditions are terrific, and the green fees are one of the best values in southeastern Michigan. We usually play here a couple of times per year. The course is very tight and demands straight shots off the tee. There are 3 short par 4 holes (4, 5 and 10) that can frustrate the golfer who always wants to hit driver off the tee.
Fun layout
Fun course with a few gimmick holes. Very picturesque with rolling hills and woods lined fairways. Greens look nice but tough to figure out. Very tight fairways. Bring extra balls! Will definitely play here again
Very tricky
All green has angulation and different spead.
Also fairways have inclination to make difficult to play. I will challenge this course again.
great course...if there are no weddings/outings that day
This was the second time we played when there was an outing before us. The first time they added 25 more people to the outing which delayed our T-time at least an hour. When we came around they did offer a free beer for the delay. Now this time there was another outing and was delayed 1/2 hour. The problem was the ranger had mentioned there were players in the outing that took 3 1/2 hours to play 9 holes which meant it held everyone up right from the beginning. There was a foursome in front of us that followed everyone and they also took forever to play. It turned out to be a 5 1/2 hour round for 18 holes. There was no ranger coming around that could have moved things along faster. It was very frustrating and would like to see them give more time in between outings and regular course play. We will not be playing on weekends anymore but the course is nice enough to enjoy a round on a weekday without having any outings or group play that delays you and ends up being a 5-5 1/2 hour round.
Whispering Pines Return
Hadn't played this course in two years. Found it in excellent condition, greens, fairways, bunkers, etc. Have always enjoyed playing this course & the pro shop attendant very courteous & helpful. He put us out on the back nine first in order to enable us to play unimpeded. Worked out great as our twosome played 18 holes in around 3 hrs.
This course was nice, long and hilly
Beautiful day, beautiful course and a whole lot of fun. We will definitely come back!
Nice Course Beaten Up a Bit
I like Whispering Pines and always look forward to playing the course. I like the variety of holes and they are all fair but challenging. I really like the different length par 3s ranging from about 135 to 185. Normally the course is in really good shape. Unfortunately it was not the case July 29th. I can live with tees being kind of sparse and beaten up but for the first time the greens were not in good shape. It was like there had been a couple of large outings on the course and nothing had been done to the greens since. There were a lot of ball marks, the area around the holes was really worn and scuffed and the edges of the holed were really chewed up. That said it will not deter me from playing W.P. again and often. I fully expect the course will be back to its normally good condition the next time we play there.
Great course
Course was challenging yet fair. Some short holes where you must play to a certain yardage on tee shots. Greens and fairways were in excellent condition.
Over 50 rate 20 bucks weekday
What a value if you’re over 50 this course is only $20 with a cart for 18 holes
Great pace of play
We played a three some great pace of play They had morning league but afternoon empty
