Pace of play
They let kids out on the course mostly without any supervision. They were around 13 years old and they were all walking. This course has changed their times to every eight minutes. My round took 5.5 hours, by myself and with a cart. This happens every Tuesday and Wednesday and also on Fridays. Not worth it and I won’t recommend this course
Shooting gallery
Such a nice course but way to many Yahoos out the day we played… a lot of yelling and screaming and had golf balls hitting close to us many times while sitting on a tee waiting for the group in front.
Nice Course, don't miss this one
Wow, this is a really nice course. Great layoout, challenging greens. This is what a Michigan course should look like. Leagues have to love this place so make sure you come when its not after work league time. 27 holes available.
4 groups on every hole
Will never be back again 4 groups on every hole 6.5 hrs to play 18 holes. Starter/Club house needs to manage the course better
Good Value Course
The course was nice. Cart path only on the day I played due to heavy rains. It is an older course with smaller greens. Alot of good scoring opportunities on some par 4's and 5's. There was not much shade throughout the lakes and hills courses but also not alot of tree trouble. I would spend the extra money to play the beautiful gold fox course next time around.
Third time I played this course and the pace of play is horrible They do teee times every 8 minutes, there will always be a backup.
Fox Classic
Played Lakes 9 and Hills 9
Both were good
Tee boxes were good
Greens were good
Sand traps could use softer sand or raking as they were very firm
Staff was nice and friendly :)
Second time I tried this course and both times it was very slow over 6 hours to get in a round of golf. Won’t play there again
original piece of a hustling golf facility
I played the classic fox a lot as a kid with my grandparents. Besides the two munis in Ann Arbor I probably played this course the most. So it was fun to get back after about 20+ years. I came in on a whim in the afternoon and was able to get out before the leagues. A lot of rain had the course pretty empty even though the Strategic Fox and Golden Fox both looked really busy. This facility hustles like few other golf facilities I've ever seen. I played the Lakes & Hills nines. Like a lot of public layouts from the 1920s, it seems like the greens have shrunk over time based on where the original fillpad boundaries appear to be. That means a few par 3s that are over 180 yards into very small greens. The Hills nine is a little more interesting with some brawny par 4s with fairways featuring a lot of undulation to them. The setting is very pleasant with no homes and it's a solid value in metro Detroit. I've still never played the Golden Fox! Maybe next time.
