Needs work
I hadn’t played the course in a few years. New management is making some changes which I don’t especially like. The 5th hole has a new tee box for middle tee shots which makes it about 40 yards closer. Also the 10th tee box has been moved closer making it a 205 yard par 4. I liked it better from the 253 yard tee box . The course was in decent shape, but the scorecard yardages were the same for the white(middle) and red(front) tee boxes. Quite an error if you don’t own a rangefinder! Also on the 7th hole there is some kind of huge rusted metal contraption that can come into play off the left side fairway if you hit an errant second or third shot. I must say it is a challenging course and tight fairways. The putting will test your skills. Keep it below the flagsticks!!
Greens were so nice
Golf in Michigan is nice. Greens were in excellent shape. Fun course yet also challenging with some tough pin placement
cup setups on extremelysloped greens were terrible and average golfers had no chance for enjoyment
course is beautiful to the eye, but greens were set up ridiculously. every cup on extreme slops and could not even lag putt. then at turn someone put out three teens walking right in front of us who were not playing seriously. playing like happy Gilmore and not really golfing. had to skip over number 12 so we could finish under 5 hours.
This course has never improved since playing it as a kid. It should be a really nice course but has never been managed correctly. Pace of play is abysmal and the course especially greens and tee boxes are in awful shape.
Enjoyable, fun course. Nice staff.

Pace of Play
As usual, course was in great shape, but they packed tee times, sent a league off of the back just as we were making the turn. Course is nice but lacks in adequate management.
Course playability
Friends and I have played the course several times and always struggle with playability. Most of the greens are severely sloped, and hole locations are cut into overly challenging locations. Coupled with beat up greens, this takes away a lot of the enjoyment of the short game.
Most of the staff are nice, but the ranger gave our group a hard time over pace of play even though we finished the front 9 in 1:45 and threatened not to let us make the turn if we didn’t speed up.
