Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis

About
The Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis is an 18-hole, public course located in Little Egg Harbor. George Fazio designed the challenging course, which has a yardage of 6,848 at the longest tees with a par of 72. The course also features tree-lined fairways and greens of bent grass and water hazards that come into play on some holes.
Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis has a particularly tricky 6th hole since there is a pond in the middle of the fairway that you must get past in order to reach the green. The golf course used to be private so it features all the amenities that a private club would have such as a restaurant and pro shop.

Good Golf good food good times!!!
Nice County course plays fair
medium to fast greens tricky at times…
Some narrow fairways with PGA,US Open
type rough… keep it straight!
Gr8 eats & brews too!!
Decent Course, but What? NO rain policy???
Check in was easy, nice folks at the Pro Shop, great little grill/bar on property. After finishing 9 holes, and with no rain forecaster until later in the day, the sky unexpectedly opened up with heavy rains for an hour. During that time, our 4some went to the grill and ate lunch while waiting for the rain to stop so we could finish our round. After the rain stopped, the sun came out and it was hot and beautiful again. However, Atlantis locked up all their carts and closed the course for the rest of the day. Okay, I get it, the course flooded that’s fine…..so we inquired about their rain check policy to finish our round later (as Golf Now instructs you to do) after paying $67 each for 18 HOLES. The Pro Shop stated they don’t have a rain policy (after collecting your money) and added “Sorry”. Huh? No rain policy? How long have you been open? Doesn’t seem too fair after paying for 18 holes. Do better Atlantis….
Great public course
Great conditions tee to green. Friendly staff. Fantastic restaurant.
Very poor condition
I have been playing here more often over the past year and the coarse was in extremely poor condition. Tee boxes overgrown, fairways seemed like rough, rough was completely unmanageable… my foursome lost at least 6 balls in the rough just off the fairway. I was shocked that this coarse being in this condition during the peak of the playing season.
I will not be playing this coarse again any time soon. For reference, I’m a 7 handicap.
Great Local Course!
Course was in good condition with friendly staff. A few suggestions for players and staff. 1. Use bug spray
2. Add at least one rake per sandtrap. Some holes had none.
3. Cut the rough. the grass was so long that it slowed play.
Needs serious manicuring
First, the check in was easy but obtaining snacks from the snack bar is a challenge. They have an area set up but no easy way to see what’s available in the shop. You have to go outside to the counter to actually see what is available and purchase.
The course looks wonderful. The problem is the tee boxes are being left high cut so you are always catching grass between the club and ball. The fairways are too tall killing any roll and again feeling like you are hitting out of rough. And, last but not least, the greens are very inconsistent. Some are cut high and very slow and others were cut low resulting in a different putt every hole. Speaking of holes, it appears they haven’t been moved in weeks. The hole walls are collapsing and over growing the PVC cup leaving a hole smaller than the 4 1/4 regulation hole.
I’m not sure if the county is underfunding the course or if it is incompetence on the part of the staff but it has great potential if it were just maintained at a consistent standard.
Forced carries
Muni but fairly well maintained when you realize the money comes from the county. Greens tend to be slower than most.
Course conditions
Course conditions were immaculate. I couldn’t believe I was playing at a county course. It was a picture perfect day.
Great Course
Amazing course at a great price, definitely will be playing there again. Well worth the hour drive
Great course!
The course is in great shape from tee boxes to the greens! Very well maintained. Staff members are all very friendly and welcoming. Food and drinks at the restaurant are excellent. Best deal around!
Great Shape
Fairways and greens were in terrific shape. Played the front 9 in under 2 hours then came to a stop on every hole on the back. Need a Ranger (4-1/2 hours).
Good for the price
Poor conditions. Long grass in the tee areas. Bunkers are so so. Early in the season but hope theee are improvements to conditions. Food is great at the bar and restaurant
