Mays Landing Golf Club
About
Former president of the PGA of America, Leo Fraser, designed the 18-hole public course at the Mays Landing Golf Club with both advanced and beginning golfers in mind. Touted as the "best birdie for the buck," the Mays Landing golf course provides a great value for all golfers. The course was meticulously designed over 175 acres of beautiful pineland with scenic tree-lined fairways.
Mays Landing Golf Club provides an experience similar to one at a private country club with its excellent service and amenities including a pro shop, restaurant, and PGA instructors on site. On hot days they even have cool towels for you and they always have roaming beverage carts. The course is 6,633 yards at the longest tees, playing to a par of 72.

Condition of greens
Yes, I know covid has impacted every aspect of our lives, but come on, I played this course numerous times and i never seen the greens in such disrepair! Like another reviewer said, it was like a plinko machine, your ball, while rolling to hole, appeared to bounce left and right. Fairways were not much better, but used to that in cheaper SJ courses, but greens here were really in bad, bad shape.
Greens a mess
Course is in real bad shape. Fairways full of crab grass. Greens were horrible, ball bounced around like a plinko ball instead of rolled. The lawn maintenance guys were actively cutting grass 10 feet away while you were hitting. No courtesy of stopping and idling. The young lady who works there is great. Wish I remembered her name but she checks you in, washes your cart, sells you beer. She’s everywhere.
Worst greens ever.
Course has a nice layout and could offer an enjoyable day of golf....if i wasn't for the conditions of the greens! They were absolutely horrendous! It was like putting in a pinball machine. 18 had a temp green....but all holes should have had temp greens! Save your money...lots of other good courses in the area.
Terribly maintained course
Played once, will never go back. Course is in terrible shape. Needs to be shut down and fixed by an owner that would actually care for it.
Price just right
I mean i got what i expected. There is an alert on golf now about the greens. I saw pictures before i went. Fairways half decent today. Blue tee boxes in great shape. Good easy practics course. Got on for $23 with a cart and played all 18. Wortg the 23 bucks. Fun course. Could be in better shape but its all known. You knlw what youre gona get even if its not fantastic.
Hope
The weather really killed this course and without a knowledgeable superintendent, disaster occured, However the management seems to now have a handle on things and improvement is occuring.. Get a good super and the course could be a gem.
What a Shame
This is a local course that I have played many many times over the last 40 years. The course has a great layout and I have always enjoyed playing it.
Today the course is in very poor condition. There are several greens that have no grass at all. Fairways are nothing but weeds. There is no starter, no rangers...on one hole there were five groups sitting and waiting. Sand traps have large stones and many weeds.
Only hope that there is a future for this course. It is located in the Atlantic City area of New Jersey where their are many nice golf courses and groups come to this area to gamble in the AC casinos and play golf..maybe one of the casinos will purchase the course, invest some money and bring it back to what it formally was.
Disappointing
I know things have been happening with Covid but I was very disappointed in the condition of the course overall. From fairway, to green, I have not played a worse course this year. Majority of the greens were like sand traps and had less grass than dirt. My own back yard looked like a better fairway. I’ve played this course before and it was not like this at all. I will play this course again one day but definitely not anytime soon. I know I would not feel proud to offer this course to anyone.
Waste of money
I have been playing golf for 64 years and i can say that this is the worst course i have ever played. The fairways were like a cow pasture, the tee boxes were nothing but crabgrass and the greens were undescribable. They were 60 percent dirt 30 percent crabgrass and 10 percent grass. We saw one other foursome on the course and we soon found out why. It is a Disgrace that you would even have this course on your website. I really feel our money should be refunded. You need to see this course in person to understand just how bad this course is. They had 1 bathroom on the course and it was Absolutely filthy. The toilet bowl looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years toilet paper on the floor leaves hard to believe that a golf course could be this negligent. I regret that I didn’t take any pictures
Non playable course
I can't believe this is the golf course. The fair way is rough no glass at all. Greens are just ground.
I can't finish the round. Don't play at this course
Course is in bad shape right now
When I checked in, the staff warned me of the poor greens on the course, but wow they were bad. They are in dire need of a watering or a better sprinkler system. If it was just the greens, I would have given 3 stars since they warned us, but even the fairways were in rough shape. Sad, because it would be a beautiful course if it were in better condition.
Need to fix the geeens
The greens are gone... I get it due to rain and heat. But what’s up with the fairways. They were like my back yard.
