Mays Landing Golf Club
About
Former president of the PGA of America, Leo Fraser, designed the 18-hole public course at the Mays Landing Golf Club with both advanced and beginning golfers in mind. Touted as the "best birdie for the buck," the Mays Landing golf course provides a great value for all golfers. The course was meticulously designed over 175 acres of beautiful pineland with scenic tree-lined fairways.
Mays Landing Golf Club provides an experience similar to one at a private country club with its excellent service and amenities including a pro shop, restaurant, and PGA instructors on site. On hot days they even have cool towels for you and they always have roaming beverage carts. The course is 6,633 yards at the longest tees, playing to a par of 72.

Yikes
$50 to play this course is a joke. No such thing as a fairway, as it is all rough and tall grass. Greens? Nah, more like brown because they were all cracked and dead. Honestly the worst course conditions I have ever played. Spend your money else where in the area. You are better off playing extra $$ for golf that is enjoyable to play.
What the Heck Happened???
Played this in years past and it was always a good course for the money and well kept. Now, the fairways are so long they qualify for rough, tee boxes are obliterated, and the greens are outright DEAD. I do not plan to play here again.
MEMBERS TOLD US THEY ARE EMBARRASSED
Everything about the course is garbage except the golf carts. Golf carts rolled pretty well. The greens are just dirt basically, you lose balls in the fairway and there was no one to monitor the pace so it took us 5 hours to play 16 holes. Not a fan
Played better cow pastures
Greens are burned out. Fairways all all crabgrass. Don't waste your time or money.
Unfortunate
Looking for a bargain at the beach and unfortunately May’s Landing was not as advertised. At least the starter warned us of the green troubles, due to extreme heat, but there was much more trouble than that. The greens were legit dried dirt, but it’s the fact that there were literally no fairways was the worst part. The rough/fairway was so long and unbearable to play in.
An updated message on the courses website would have been appreciated before we spent the 45 to play.
Unplayable Greens
The greens were not playable. The Pro Shop asked if I saw the pop up, I said no.
What a sad mess
"The Virus" is no excuse for what's happening here. You won't find another local course in this kind of shape. And it happens year after year. This time, it started earlier and is worse than normal - but not that much worse. This is the 18th "green." Many are just as bad. See my ball? that's after a lousy lag putt from the bottom of the frame. YOU try doing any better over that stuff. Fairways? I took 5 minutes to find a drive in the middle of hole #5. I actually lost one there last week. Bridges and fencing are falling apart. Some of the sand traps are unusable. Many don't even have rakes. (Is a green-side trap a waste area if it doesn't have a rake? Then again, the term, "waste area" could apply to much if not most of the course.) With no starters and rangers, people do pretty much whatever they want. Example: with no ropes and stakes, many people drive right up to the greens. It goes on and on and on. Worst of all, people running the counter are completely apathetic. AND rude. It's very sad to see the death of a golf course up close and personal. It's not like there are no other choices around - all of which are in pretty good shape. How is it that THEY figured it out? The people running this place have to know all that, so I guess next year, they plan on living off of unemployment comp as I don't see MLGC being around much longer.
Horrible Condition
This course was in terrible condition. The greens and fairways were trash. The course was so bad I will never play it again. I heard the course used to be nice several years ago but new ownership is doing a terrible job. Do not play this course it is garbage and not worth a penny
Wow, horrible shape
Went in here with high hopes looking at their website. Course was arguably worst shape I have ever seen in 20 years of playing. The fairways were a crabgrass first cut rough mixture, bunkers with huge pebbles and rocks, and greens that actually lack grass. Staff was friendly, but no way I’d play here again.
Dog track
This course is fine but it is in really bad shape. It doesn’t look like it is maintained at all. There are many other places to play golf in South Jersey. This is a course you can skip.
Disaster
This golf course is in horrible shape. I am not a picky person when it comes to golf course conditions but the greens are the In worst conditions I have ever seen in my 58 years on this planet. You have to see it to believe it. Do not I repeat do not spend your hard earned money on this golf course.
Greens/fairways were rough
Even tho the greens were the worst greens I’ve ever experienced they still are charging full price...I was excited to play here with friends I haven’t seen in awhile , I recommended this course and the green/fairways were one of the worst if not the worst I’ve played anywhere around south jersey . If any thing they should be charging less until they actually take care of the course
Disgusting
This course used to be beautiful and quite enjoyable to play The course is horrible and shouldn’t even be open. Not one green had grass on it, fairways were full of crab grass and weeds and also longer than some of the rough in places. Tee boxes were beat up and are over grown with weeds. The fact they charged $45 to play is a shame, there was nothing fun or enjoyable about the 4:30 round, no starter no rangers and definitely no maintenance dept it will take years to fix this place, stay away
Embarrassing they are letting people play these conditions
This place used to be excellent value and a surprisingly decent course for the shore area. It’s now so far beyond repair I’m embarrassed for the course that they are letting people play. Fairways were barely mowed at a 2nd cut of rough level, but ironically the rough are the “greens” is just buckets of grass clippings.
I’m hesitant to even call them greens because there is more mud, dirt, burn tracks, and weeds than actual grass on the putting surface. Not one single green was playable or remotely resembled a decent amount of grass. It’s a shame because I used to enjoy the course but will absolutely not be returning.
They need to shut this place down for at least a month and try to revive the place because otherwise nobody will ever be back.
