Mays Landing Golf Club
About
Former president of the PGA of America, Leo Fraser, designed the 18-hole public course at the Mays Landing Golf Club with both advanced and beginning golfers in mind. Touted as the "best birdie for the buck," the Mays Landing golf course provides a great value for all golfers. The course was meticulously designed over 175 acres of beautiful pineland with scenic tree-lined fairways.
Mays Landing Golf Club provides an experience similar to one at a private country club with its excellent service and amenities including a pro shop, restaurant, and PGA instructors on site. On hot days they even have cool towels for you and they always have roaming beverage carts. The course is 6,633 yards at the longest tees, playing to a par of 72.

Horrible Experience
There is no grass on most of the greens. The fairways are longer than most roughs and just filled with weeds. The Sandra's are in horrible condition. The pace of play was just horrid. Took four and half hours to play and had to wait 5-10 minutes on every tee box and I was part of a foursome. Apparently the maintenance / grounds keeping deaprtment stopped working before Covid-19 was even a thing. Stay as far away as possible for this course. Paid $45 for a 7:48am tee time. Was not worth the money or the time that I will never get back.
Disappointed
I used to play here a few times a year , I have never seen it in such poor conditions. It was like the course caught covid, greens were literally just mud. I’m very sympathetic to covid era business , however this course has an identity problem, you can’t charge $50 and expect people to putt on mud or crab grass. If you are gonna run a bare bones operation with no staff or maintenance then charge accordingly, like less than $20! It’s a shame they let the course get so run down.
warned too late
i have played this course many times and know what to expect. after booking and after arriving- the pro shop informed me that the course had LOST the greens. at that point in time- what were my options?
the fairways were like us open rough. the rough was unplayable and the greens were the worst I have ever seen.
Very poor condition
The whole place was in terrible shape from the heat and the storm, probably the worst condition I’ve ever played
Horrible condition
this course is in the absolute worst condition ever. I have been a member at this course for years. I have given them chance upon chance and paid my membership every year. After playing Saturday August 15th, I will never be returning to this course again. It is absolutely horrendous and should not even be considered a golf course
Yikes
I took a dump on the fairway and you’d never notice
Don’t do it
The worst maintained course I have ever played. The greens were mostly dirt . The grass in the fairways was 6 inches high. There were giant puddles throughout the course. Even at $55 it’s way overpriced
Going down
I understand challenges with COVID and recent storms but this course is being neglected. Greens that are dirt and no grass. Fairways that are worse than most roughs.this course used to be a favorite as it was a good deal for a nice course but the conditions now are terrible. Even the golf carts are not charged to last 18 holes stranding players. Just being run into the ground
Never again
Worse course I ever been too and they charge $55! Unbelievable and they should be assumed of themselves
Horrible Course
Besides the friendly staff, this course is not worth your time. May be the worst course I have ever played. Top to bottom the conditions are terrible. No redeeming qualities whatsoever for this course. If your somewhat interested in golf, do not waste you time at this place.
Terrible shape
Fairway grass was 3" high - off fairways 6" to 8" high. Crabgrass on greens and in fairways. Otherwise nice course lay-out. In this shape rating is 3 on scale of 1-10.
Course Conditions
They had storm damage which was expected but grass was not cut and there were clumps everywhere, greens we’re dirt. Worst course conditions I have ever seen.
Course not in Great Shape
I like the Mays Landing Country Club because it’s close to home and they take part in the Golf Now app. I’ve golfed this course a few times and enjoyed it a lot. However, I was very surprised with my current visit. The greens were in very bad shape (dried/cracked dirt patches with no grass in large areas), the rough needed to be cut and the bunkers were hard packed sand with really no soft sand in them. In giving a fair review, I will add that we did have some heavy rains earlier in the week so maybe they had something to do with the bunkers?Would I golf there again? It wouldn’t be my first choice, but I will if I could get a special through a golf app as I wouldn’t pay full price. The course employs some super nice people and I’m hoping the MLCC can show some attention to the greens and the course in the near future. I certainly wouldn’t be too happy if I was a Yearly paying member there..
They’ve lost the course
This used to be a really nice course. I’ve played this course many times in my life. A few years ago it was half way decent but now it is unplayable and I can’t believe anyone would pay to play knowing the conditions. The first green has literally no grass on it and a majority of the greens are unplayable, the practice green isn’t even useable. The “fairways“ are rough length and the rough is 5 inches high. Do not play here until it has been fixed.
Poor Conditions
Greens were extremely bad. Mostly bare no grass.
Lots of weeds in fairways. Course has deteriorated tremendously from previous years.
