Mays Landing Golf Club
About
Former president of the PGA of America, Leo Fraser, designed the 18-hole public course at the Mays Landing Golf Club with both advanced and beginning golfers in mind. Touted as the "best birdie for the buck," the Mays Landing golf course provides a great value for all golfers. The course was meticulously designed over 175 acres of beautiful pineland with scenic tree-lined fairways.
Mays Landing Golf Club provides an experience similar to one at a private country club with its excellent service and amenities including a pro shop, restaurant, and PGA instructors on site. On hot days they even have cool towels for you and they always have roaming beverage carts. The course is 6,633 yards at the longest tees, playing to a par of 72.

Mays Landing It' old and tired
It a really nice course, that has suffered from lack of attention. It is probably a money pit, but with an infusion of $$ it could regain credibility as a destination. Admittedly the weather has been harsh this summer. The fairways took a beating and many greens are in tough shape. Hopefully the fall will be kind. Other area courses have weathered the same conditions well - go figure.
Crab grass over the course.
I really don’t what to recommend
Money needs to be inputed to this course.
The only survival is water and grass seed.
What happened
The course use to be in a lot better shape. The fairways were really bad, it looked liked it hasn't been maintained in awhile. The greens were poor. I had a membership there years ago, I wouldn't get one now.
Course needs attention
Not sure where to start. Tees were chewed up considerably. Cart paths need attention. Bunkers need a total renovation. Fareways are none existent. Crabgrass has taken over the fareways and they hadn't been mowed regularly. Actually difficult to see your ball in the fareway. The greens were long, slow, and inconsistent. Areas of some greens were in much need of repair. The green surrounds ran from poor to fair (at best).
Many areas in general were not playable. The course has an interesting layout but condition makes it difficult to recommend playing.
Mays Landing - August
Always a fun course to play, friendly staff, this was a Saturday afternoon and the pace of play was good but the fairways and a couple of the greens were showing the effects of the August heat and the minimum rain for the last two weeks. Still very playable.
Your back yard is better
This course isn’t worth $20. The fairways aren’t fairways they are dead, patchy grass. If you played in your back yard you’d have a better time. I paid $59 for a round and I wouldn’t go back if it was 1/4 of the price. Greens in horrible condition, such a rip off
Too Bad
I have played this course for over forty years. It once was one of the best public courses in the Atlantic City area. It is in terrible condition. Fairways have little if any grass, most is just weeds and dirt. Greens are bare in many places. Those with grass are slow and bumpy and also have weeds growing on them.
It has been let go and would need a lot to bring it back to good playing conditions.
What a shame , the layout is very good and with proper maintenance it could again be one of the top rated courses in this area.
Fast round
Staff and course were fine. Found that grass around the greens were not cut in some time.
Found many crab grass and dead grass through out the course.

Course was in fairly good shape for late July, a couple of the greens were under repair, but playable. Course is always enjoyable, price performer.
Course not in very good shape
Course not in good shape
Fairways were overgrown
Crabgrass around the greens and
some of the greens were very poor
Played in June the course was in a lot better shape
Great course!
Great course! Greens were great, except a couple of them were dead.
Never playing again
This course was awful. Only one tee box actually looked like an actual tee box. When was the last time sand was placed in the bunkers? 2003? Greens were in terrible condition. Pictures posted must be from a decade or so ago. Just an awful course and wasn’t worth $50. I’d play this course again for $10, but not a penny more. Very disappointed....
Terrible Course
If you like crab grass for the fairway, stones in the traps and sandy rough, this is your course. The play was slow and the rangers never moved players along. First time on this course and it will be my last time. Awful
fun
Fun layout to play. Inland from the high priced shore layouts and easy to get to from the Philly area. Fun course with some interesting holes. Don't need driver but only a couple holes take it out of your hands. Staff is always great and grill room top notch as well. Greens were slow but given extreme weather it is understandable to keep them cut longer to prevent potential burnout.
Fun round
Outside of our car dying on the third hole, it was a fun round. The course isn’t in the best condition but is challenging and fun.
Better than last time
I have played this course several times over the years and saw it at it's best and worst which was the last two years. When it gets better fairways and tee boxes they will command a higher price. Sand traps were inconsistent. Some were hard and some had good sand. The greens were in good condition.Check in was very easy. Starter was accommodating and friendly. If there was drinking water on the course I never found it. The on course bathroom was just one step better than a porta potty. I will be back for $24.00 dollars a round with a cart which was in good shape also.

Good layout, fairways brown in a few spots but still fun to play and a great value
