Spooky Brook Golf Course
About
Spooky Brook Golf Course in Somerset is a player-friendly course that is perfect for beginners. It offers just enough of a challenge but it still allows you some room for error. At 6,655 yards from the back tees, the golf course is relatively short but the greens, tees, and fairways offer plenty of room. The mostly flat terrain makes for an enjoyable walk and it's also wide open. While the golf course may not be the most formidable test, it does have a few challenges in store. Water has a presence throughout the course, especially on the back nine. Whether or not you are looking to hone your skills or if you want a casual round, the well maintained golf course appeals to any skill level. In addition to the course, Spooky Brook G.C. also has a driving range that you can use to warm-up.

Spooky
Fun and easy track, relatively short.
Has some challenges on the back nine. The front nine is like a warm up for the back. Kept in pretty good shape, as are all Somerset county courses these days. Would recommend
Tremendous
Once again another great day. Course is in Country Club conditions from tee to greens
Can I get a card please
Not a bad course, but nothing great at all. The started was an a##hole for no reason. Asked for a scoring card and the unprofessional response was annoying. Maybe he was tired or having a bad day, but either way no reason for it.
Good value
Course looked great for this time of year(mid March). Already starting to “green up”. Just like its neighboring course, Quailbrook, the greens are some of the best that I play in NJ. Fairways and tees are also in great shape for a public course at a price under $60.00.
Layout is relatively open allowing for recovery from mis-hit drives. Easier to walk than Quailbrook.
Nice course overall.
Nice walk
Great County Course. Nice easy walk Greens are always Perfect. Must play if you enjoy having a shot from anywhere on the course.
Soggy bottoms
Great layout and greens. Very soggy fairways and rough. Rainy season has really kept courses very wet. Greens were in great shape and the pace was decent. Would like to go back when it’s a little drier and warmer.
Fun course. Great condition in winter.
Second time playing this course and it did not disappoint. Was in great condition following a week of rain and snow. Thanks to the staff for being friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to come back.
like the course.....3rd time playing it
First time i played Spooky I was underwhelmed. Played a second time and found the nuisances to the course and enjoyed much more. Playing the 3rd really like the layout.. Can be easy if swing and putting well,,,,but can have little bite if off. Not entirely flat with some elevation changes and all the holes are different. Conditions were fine for January especially for the cost. Really reasonable,. The only knock was the pace of play. Our group including one of my friends and 2 locals played so slowly. Nothing i did sped them up. 3 groups on a part 5 ... 3 times.....i apologize for my group and hope we didn't cause any hard feelings for the groups behind us. BTW...no refreshments....bring some snacks and drinks.
Great greens
Greens always seem to be in great condition, even in winter. Course is wide but its not totally flat like some reviews suggest. There's plenty of rolling hills to keep things interesting and still easy to walk. Low rough + generous fairways means quick pace of play. Since its wide open, wind can be a real issue. Whatever the forecast says for wind, double it at least.
