Spooky Brook Golf Course in Somerset is a player-friendly course that is perfect for beginners. It offers just enough of a challenge but it still allows you some room for error. At 6,655 yards from the back tees, the golf course is relatively short but the greens, tees, and fairways offer plenty of room. The mostly flat terrain makes for an enjoyable walk and it's also wide open. While the golf course may not be the most formidable test, it does have a few challenges in store. Water has a presence throughout the course, especially on the back nine. Whether or not you are looking to hone your skills or if you want a casual round, the well maintained golf course appeals to any skill level. In addition to the course, Spooky Brook G.C. also has a driving range that you can use to warm-up.

Quality Golf Experience
The course was in very good condition. From other reviews I read I expected a pancake flat course, but it was not. Had variations in elevation and alignment that made play interesting.
Clubhouse is simple but adequate although no food service.
I am a high handicapper and the more open layout was somewhat forgiving although there are challenges.
I would be happy to play here again.
Slow Pace of Play
Nice course, but Saturday twilight was overbooked. It took 3 hours to play 9 holes.

Course was in excellent condition. Fairways were green and soft from the rain. Greens were in great shape Some of the best I've seen this year. Bunkers had sand in them but seemed a little firm, maybe from the overnight rain. Cost was awesome...$17.00 with a cart. Definitely play the course before the warm weather fades away, I will be back, worth the trip.
Tee Boxes needed to be cut, fairways had a lot of crab grass. greens were in good condition but slow. and my fault for not seeing fine print on Golf Now that cart wasn't included in price. But 4 other times playing here cart was included in price. Not worth $60 on a week day to play. Much better courses in area same price or less.
Solid course, fine conditions
First time playing Spooky this year.

Slow play
Front nine played quickly but got stuck on the back nine. Eventually there was me waiting on the tee box as well as the foursome in front of me, a foursome in the fairway, and one on the green, as well as one on the next tee box. There was no winning
Great conditions
Spooky Brook is a great course. Most holes are long and straight but features and a few dog legs keep it interesting. Greens and fairways are in great shape. All the Somerset County courses are great and spooky is no exception.

Nice course with fantastic staff
Very impressed with experience. Very walking friendly course. Unfortunately 96 degrees with no free drinking water. Two groups in front of us extremely slow and no rangers to ensure pace of play. Course should have taken 3:15 to play and took 4:10. Waited at least 5 minutes at every tee and a minute or two for every shot. Greens true and fairways in beautiful condition. Employees fantastic giving us ice with cooler in every cart, a course yardage booklet, and highlights of the course.
Good Value
Wide open and beginner friendly, course was in decent shape. A lot of bang for your buck as a “Hot Deal”.
Beginner Course
Spooky Brook is wide open. Waste areas are open which means not too many lost balls. Great beginner course.
Need TLC
It’s a relatively straightforward course but needs some TLC. Tee ground, fairways are in bad shape..bunkers have little sand, mostly hard dirt. Greens are on the slow side. Hope they put in more money and effort in maintaining the course.
first time in years
good to be back. great course to walk and play early. finished in 3.5 hrs. I do wish they let you out before 7. 45 to walk is a little much but with the county system, it's fair.
