About
Quail Brook Golf Course in Somerset is one of central New Jersey's top public courses. The challenging design is a favorite amongst local golfers. The layout has a diverse mix of holes, some of which are spacious and wide-open and others that are rolling and tight. Although the golf course may seem short at 6,630 yards from the back tees, don't be fooled by the yardage. The course can feel much longer thanks to the hilly terrain. The front nine has subtler undulations while the back nine is dramatically hilly, which makes it a tough course to walk. Quail Brook Golf Course's undulating fairways lead to challenging sloped greens that are framed with strategically placed bunkers. There aren't too many opportunities for driving, but your short game will definitely get a workout.

Wonderful Muni
I may be a little biased since this is the course I grew up playing, however the course is in really great shape and definitely worth playing for those visiting NJ.
Greens were a bit slow for my preference but made for a lot of holed putts.
After Neshanic I think this is the next best course in Somerset County.
I’ve played plenty of courses all over the country, that were 2-3 times as expensive and in much worse shape.
The course maintenance crew should be really proud of how well the course is playing.

Grear people and course was in very good shape. The greens were a little slow but otherwise a great round.
Beautiful course
The staff is always cooperative. I was allowed to start 45 minutes ahead of my reservation time which allowed me to fit a tight schedule.
A decent no-frills municipal course
Quail Brook provides a decent no-frills municipal course, in a scenic setting. The course is in decent shape, although the greens were recently aerated and are very slow. There are hardly any amenities beyond a vending machine. The course provides a reasonable value for money, especially if you can get a hot deal. It is a good choice for a weekday round when you don't have expectations of amenities beyond the game itself.
Aerated—-warning would have been nice
Course is very nice and enjoyable layout but no warning about aeration is very frustrating. Greens are a mess, which we all know happens, but a warning would be nice…before wasting my $$&
Quail Brook
This has always been one of my favorite courses. They clearly could use 20 or so more gas carts. The back 9 is a long walk. The course was in great early spring condition.
It'd be a higher score for amenities if some simple items were handled. Soapy water in the ball washers should be a given. The shoe cleaning pads were largely completely bare the brushes gone years ago.
