About
Quail Brook Golf Course in Somerset is one of central New Jersey's top public courses. The challenging design is a favorite amongst local golfers. The layout has a diverse mix of holes, some of which are spacious and wide-open and others that are rolling and tight. Although the golf course may seem short at 6,630 yards from the back tees, don't be fooled by the yardage. The course can feel much longer thanks to the hilly terrain. The front nine has subtler undulations while the back nine is dramatically hilly, which makes it a tough course to walk. Quail Brook Golf Course's undulating fairways lead to challenging sloped greens that are framed with strategically placed bunkers. There aren't too many opportunities for driving, but your short game will definitely get a workout.

Pick up the PACE!!
We played in 4 housr 20 minutes, which is admirable considering it was 74 degrees on March 18. Course was in nice shape for the time of the year, and nothing to complain about. However, we had some knucklehead yelling at a group 2 in front of us to Pick up the pace! Then later complained to us about the same thing, we all thought he was joking, but the bitter old man was serious.
Really enjoy the layout, look forward to visiting many times this summer.
Staff was excellent they all had an attitude of gratitude, it was so appreciated.
Great value
Course was in great condition and the layout was challenging but not too daunting. For $25 walking this was an incredible value.
Excellent Public Course in Central NJ
This is a Somerset County course which is very well maintained and has a nice practice facility as well. The greens were in great shape for early in the season, the sand traps were well maintained and posed a real challenge for approach shots. For those long hitters, this course can play at 6600 yards, regular men's tees are at 6100. Although it rained heavily in the area the day before, there were no issues with wet tee boxes, fairways or greens. A very nice facility.
Season opener
The course was in very good condition. Greens played very well as usual. Rough was down so course played a little easier. Windy day some holes played a little longer.
All in all good time.
Love the layout
The staff was awesome. The course was in great shape and the greens were fast and challenging pin positions on some holes. Glad I got out today.
Awesome experience
This was the second time playing the course. I had a great first experience which led me here again. I didn’t expect much since I played at the end of November, but I was pleasantly surprised to play on a well conditioned course. The greens were in awesome shape and fast!!! The grounds crew had all the leaves off the fairway which is a huge bonus during the fall. I played with a couple friends I recommended the course to and they both loved it as well. Needless to say, we’ll be playing here again!
