Quail Brook Golf Course
About
Quail Brook Golf Course in Somerset is one of central New Jersey's top public courses. The challenging design is a favorite amongst local golfers. The layout has a diverse mix of holes, some of which are spacious and wide-open and others that are rolling and tight. Although the golf course may seem short at 6,630 yards from the back tees, don't be fooled by the yardage. The course can feel much longer thanks to the hilly terrain. The front nine has subtler undulations while the back nine is dramatically hilly, which makes it a tough course to walk. Quail Brook Golf Course's undulating fairways lead to challenging sloped greens that are framed with strategically placed bunkers. There aren't too many opportunities for driving, but your short game will definitely get a workout.

Perfect after a weekend of rain on a sunday
My favorite course not in my immediate area in Morris county. Superb. All the cups were tucked in corners or on breaks which made putting interesting. Got a cart from the inside pro shop guy even though I didn’t pay for it on golf now and the starter gave me a yardage book gratis. $38 to walk is a steal on a Sunday. Go play quail brook if you haven’t already.
Superb course
Quailbrook is beautifully designed and maintained. My favorite course. This year, a change it the mix of golfers attracted to Quailbrook has resulted in slower pace of play. It is a little too popular.
Nice to play
The starter was very friendly and accommodating I asked for a handicap flag and there was no problem in getting one I would return to the course every chance I could get
Always in Great Shape
Course is beautiful. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Will always be one of my favorites.
Decent County course
The course is not great, but it is decent and is worth playing. The course conditions were fairly good for October, and the greens were well-maintained although quite slow. The biggest problem with this course is the pace of play. There is no ranger on the course, and the beginners in the foursome in front of my group slowed everything down. The course has no real amenities other than a vending machine. There is no beverage cart. For a no-frills experience, it provides a reasonable test, although the course is quite short, particularly on part 3 holes. Too often, the par 4's are a driver wedge combination. It would be better if you were compelled to use your mid irons more often.
Enjoyable Course
Tale of different nines. Front nine is beautiful and if you have played it, it will remind you of Charleston Springs South. The back nine is much harder and more hilly.
Great conditions.
Very nice golf course. A step above the nearby Rutgers Golf Course and Spooky Brook.
Nice track
Nice course in very good condition from the tee boxes to the greens, bunkers in fantastic shape. My only issue is the pace of the greens, they are frustratingly SLOW. They are perfect and roll smooth but
they definitely need to lower the mover blades a couple notches.
