About
Quail Brook Golf Course in Somerset is one of central New Jersey's top public courses. The challenging design is a favorite amongst local golfers. The layout has a diverse mix of holes, some of which are spacious and wide-open and others that are rolling and tight. Although the golf course may seem short at 6,630 yards from the back tees, don't be fooled by the yardage. The course can feel much longer thanks to the hilly terrain. The front nine has subtler undulations while the back nine is dramatically hilly, which makes it a tough course to walk. Quail Brook Golf Course's undulating fairways lead to challenging sloped greens that are framed with strategically placed bunkers. There aren't too many opportunities for driving, but your short game will definitely get a workout.

First Class Condition
The course and even the driving range are maintained in first class condition. The maintenance is fantastic. It is a pleasure to play at Quailbrook.
This course is decent
Can't say it's beautiful but it was decent. There's no water on the entire course and there's also nobody driving around offering drinks or snacks. That was a little disappointing since it was like 90° not including the humidity. You'd think they would have water at maybe every four holes. Nothing. Covid is over so bring the water back. Charging $84 for a Sunday for a round so you'd think they'd at least have water on the course. Maybe one day I hope
Great Shape from tee to green
Great shape. Pace was avg and not annoying.
Greens very good. Just no one fixes divots or rakes bunkers. Enjoyable round of golf!!

I love this course, it’s always in great condition. It’s challenging at times but overall it’s my go to course.
Great value for the money.
This is my first time playing this course. I am a super senior and I was not overwhelmed by the difficulty of the course. It was very fair and laid out beautifully. The conditions were excellent and I will definitely play there again. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier. I told the starter this was my first time playing and he came out out of his booth and gave me a copy of the entire courses layout. Just a great experience.
A hidden gem
The starter was very nice and welcoming, the course layout is a beautiful parkland style course.

The course is in good shape. Greens were smooth
There are no water stations on the course
No opportunity to refill a water bottle which makes it difficult to stay hydrated - so be prepared on these hot days and bring plenty of water

A 3:57 round on a Sunday! Awesome!
Not to mention that the course is in amazing shape. Great staff with a sense of humor.

Perfect pace of play
Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Range right next to first tee box. Course conditions were as close to perfect as you can get.

County course
My local county course. Conditions have been great, and the course is in good shape.. Not a great course to walk, the backnline have some long walks between holes, but ok with a cart.
Cart
Good course, well maintained, but the layout is not good for walking. There are 4 stretches the go down a steep hill, then under a road through a long tunnel and back up a steep incline on the other side. I walked over 8 miles. And the carts run rough (gas) and could use some TLC
