Quail Brook Golf Course
About
Quail Brook Golf Course in Somerset is one of central New Jersey's top public courses. The challenging design is a favorite amongst local golfers. The layout has a diverse mix of holes, some of which are spacious and wide-open and others that are rolling and tight. Although the golf course may seem short at 6,630 yards from the back tees, don't be fooled by the yardage. The course can feel much longer thanks to the hilly terrain. The front nine has subtler undulations while the back nine is dramatically hilly, which makes it a tough course to walk. Quail Brook Golf Course's undulating fairways lead to challenging sloped greens that are framed with strategically placed bunkers. There aren't too many opportunities for driving, but your short game will definitely get a workout.

Great fun course
This is my favorite Somerset County course. For Nov. the fairways and greens were in great shape. Staff were very friendly. Teed off at 12:30 on a Monday and flew through the front but then caught up with the morning crowd on the back and had to wait for every shot. Very interesting holes and played in less than 4 hours. I'll be back as much as possible.
Rude staff
Treated me like I was a third class citizen never play there again
Good calue
The course is in very nice shape. No complaints. I would play again and this time of year, conditions were nice
A very solid 4 stars
Enjoyable day! Did "Golf Now" and teed off early, no issues. Good conditions all around. No food or drink so bring some.
slow play
it was the longest round ever, waiting on every shot from the first hole
Excellent course
Quailbrook is in excellent condition. The tee-boxes, fairways and green were perfect. Kudos to the ground crew.
Also had some nice products on sale in the pro shop.
QUAILBROOK GOLF COURSE
COURSE WAS IN EXCELLENNT CONDITION PRICE REASONABLE
Nice course in Somerset County
Surprisingly in good condition given the drought we've had in the NE. The Greens were excellent and rolled great. There were some bald and yellow spots in the rough, however, given the weather conditions, the course was in great shape. I would recommend it highly.
Quailbrook - Nice Place for a Good Price
This course has good fairways and greens. Relatively short, but doesn't mean scoring can be easy. I enjoyed playing at Quailbrook, but weather was way too hot! I would recommend this course if you are looking for a good place to play with a reasonable green fee.
Great course
My favorite course this summer. Always get out without a wait. Play is fast and the course is in great condition. Neshanic is more challenging but this course is more walkable and plays faster.
Fun day
The course is great for intermediate players. It has challenging greens and nice long fairways. It is a very nice course.
Ehh
Not much to write home about here. It's a pretty flat public course that wasn't anything exciting.
The day did start off on a sour note with the staff in the shop who were not the friendliest people you would ever meet. I arrived early and the course was empty so after putting on the practice green I ask if I could start early. Once the guy saw that I was an online reservation there was nothing open for the next hour. I then sat in my car for the next hour and watched no one pull into the parking lot or check in with the starter.
On the up side once my magic time arrived the starter and the Rangers were nothing but gentlemen.
The course is a public course and is pretty wide open and flat. It's in decent condition considering the weather and the greens were great. It was a fast round once I got started and I finished in about three and a half hours. All in all it was alright but not somewhere I'm running back too.
Staff does not like Golfnow.
Had a prepaid time. Played with another prepaid. Got there early to hit some balls but they would not print out my ticket until my tee time. The other guy was told that if he wanted to go out early he had to buy a sleeve of balls. We were accused of coming early in order to get out earlier than our time even though we didn't ask. Got in an argument with staff about it and they made it very obvious that they don't like golfers who get " free " Golfnow tee times. I said I had paid and they should treat me like any other golfer. I have never had this treatment at any other course. In fact I told them other courses offered to let us go out early if they were open. These folks have no idea how to run a golf course. Shameful.
Poor Pace of Play
Recently this course has had some pretty slow pace of play over the past month. Especially after completing the first 9 holes.
Course in Great Shape
Greens & Fairways in very good shape on a rainy day. Back Nine is hilly with 2 tunnels. Would not recommend walking this course because of the distance between holes. Most holes have pretty open
fairways for your drives. Enjoyable Day - would play again.
Magnificent gem
Quailbrook is a magnificent and challenging course . The fairways are in pristine condition. The greens are fast and serene. I lost 4 balls out there today and loved the challenge .
Mike and the guys are friendly / efficient . Rated with 5 stars .
like this course
really good layout. surprise that is doesn't get more play. first time I played was late autumn on a windy and cold day and liked it. played on a great summer day and liked it even more. good test of golf and lots of different looks. wish it had real food and beer instead of vending machine. that's the only negative.
Good Course but unfriendly staff
It seems the golfers booked thru golfnow.com are not welcome... Course is good though
Good Course Overall
A good "go-to" course for anyone looking to have a nice round. Nothing spectacular in terms of layout but their conditions are great with greens that roll nice with lots of undulations. Just be sure to bring bug spray.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
Wow I thought it was just me! He pulled the same thing. If you want to go to the range it's six bucks if not nothing's open.
