About
The Palms Golf Course is a tract that locals and visitors alike just love to play. Originally designed by William Mitchell in 1962, the Palms was completely renovated by Karl Litton and Lorie Viola in 1996.
The accommodating fairways make it easier to hit your tee shots in play. Once on the 'dance floor', the Bermuda greens roll true and quick.
The Palms Course has a number of picturesque water hazards. As its name would indicate, the Palms features lovely native Palm trees throughout the course.
It is most definitely a true Florida golf course and one, which everybody should put on their 'must play' list .

Fun Round!
Good length. Wide fairways. Good condition. Greens looked great and are rolling well!
Interesting layout
The course fairways and greens were fine. The tee boxes need a lot of work as well as the cart paths - they could save the course from damage with a stepped up maintenance program. The layout is interesting and a bit too close to the condo structures for my continued liking.The staff was friendly in the morning and not so helpful in the afternoon.
A great course with improving conditions.
This has always been a great course. During the last year maintenance was lacking and it seemed that the course was in the process of having non reparable damage as the fairways were becoming fields of weeds. I played it today and was able to confirm that finally the course is getting the care it deserves.
I sincerely hope the good work continues.
Unable to pay until 15 min before teetime
We arrived early to hit some balls and chip and put before our teetime. We were told by the staff that we could not pay for our teetime until 15 before teeing off ???? You must obviously have an accountant as CEO, please hire a golfer in this important position!
Teeboxes were in terrible condition. Fairways were fair, but greens were good.

Course is not a Mickey Mouse one
The course from the gold is rated at 122 slope. The yardage for the gold is 5700+ yards 90% has wide open fairways with lots of grass. The Greens are putable. Some water comes into play.
This is a fantastic course in great need of tender loving care.....
I have played this course since 1995 many times. It is a great course, design wise, and truly enjoyable when it is in fair condition.
Las time I played it was about 6 months ago and it was in terrible conditions.
This time the greens were in great shape but the fairway and tees are still in truly terrible shape.
I can not understand that the Owners let it go to this state while the other Palm Aire courses, Cypress and Oaks are in very good shape.
They told me that they had changed the course superintendent...
I sincerely hope that the new team can repair the gross neglect and disrespect that the previous responsible party had for this otherwise great layout.
Greens were great have been greatly improved!
Fairways were the worst I have ever played
Preferred lies could not even be found!
Really bad, a little water would have helped.
Course is going downhill
This course was in poor condition. The greens were ok but very slow. The fairways are a mess. There’s hardly any cushion. The lies are extremely tight.There’s crabgrass everywhere. It’s better to be in the rough.
Great course in need of real care...
It is so sad to watch such a great course deteriorate to a point that it seems no one really cares about it.
The greens , thank God, are in great shape but the fairway are in many places in such bad shape that it seems as if a real estate developer wants it to be lost forever, beyond repair. The condition of the tees also show lack of the most basic care for a really great course were Sam Sneed still holds the record.
I hope the current owners see this review and open their eyes and save this truly fun course for generations to come.
wonderful greens
I have been playing this course for over 10 and this is best I have seen the greens. Very true and medium fast. Never have any complaints about the course. There isn't a beverage cart and the bathrooms could use a little talc if not an updating. Everyone is very friendly and avcomodating.

We understand how frustrating it can be to not see any beverage attendants during a round. Rest assured, our Food and Beverage Manager was made aware of this issue and will ensure that that does not happen again. Also keep in mind, we will always have our amazing Bartenders available for you at the turn, and we are also willing to bring you some snacks, if necessary. It's a shame
A wonderful layout with challenging holes ruined by lousy maintenance. The greens are in good condition, other than the over application of weed killer on the aprons. Someone obviously doesn't know the proper dilution ratio, creating multiple one foot diameter, bright yellow patches around almost every green. Tree damage from last seasons storms is still evident everywhere, with piles of broken branches gathered around the base of many trees.
The cart paths are a mix of broken asphalt and rutted sand, more suitable for an off-road vehicle than a golf cart. As for the golf cart - it had holes rusted through the floor boards where you put your feet. The fairway grass was mowed, but splotchy in coverage. If you really play by the rules and don't roll the ball in the fairways, you are at a disadvantage.
I thought all the money from the sale of one of the four courses would have been used to upgrade and maintain the remaining three courses. I guess not!

Unfortunately, the combination of a very dry season and high cart traffic has done quite a number on our courses.
