Palms at Palm-Aire Country Club
About
The Palms Golf Course is a tract that locals and visitors alike just love to play. Originally designed by William Mitchell in 1962, the Palms was completely renovated by Karl Litton and Lorie Viola in 1996.
The accommodating fairways make it easier to hit your tee shots in play. Once on the 'dance floor', the Bermuda greens roll true and quick.
The Palms Course has a number of picturesque water hazards. As its name would indicate, the Palms features lovely native Palm trees throughout the course.
It is most definitely a true Florida golf course and one, which everybody should put on their 'must play' list .

Surprising greens
The greens are the best I've seen here in 10 years. I would say medium - fast....10.5....rolling true.
Thank you Superintendent!
Bag attendant was not good when we left. The other week they were great.
Play here frequently.
I am about a 20 handicap player. The course is like a resort course. You almost can't be too far off to get back to play for the green. This course is played a lot by tourist. All friendly and all in good spirits. I tend to bargain shop my courses for any given day and this course us usually the best option and price. I take my higher handicap visitors here, but there is a tougher and busier course at the same resort.
Conditions are about average with some tee boxes that you will have to work around. There are some trouble spots with water. Not an extrem long course but it challenges. Some of the homes and condos are closer than I like. I still play here frequently.
Better be ready to move
I enjoy golf like I enjoy my wine. I like to take my time & enjoy every shot/sip. I have not felt this rushed in awhile. When we arrived we were immediately paired with two gentlemen that had been staying at the resort. We could tell they were in the mood to hurry. The Marshall at the starting gate spoke briefly about pace of play & explained how important it was to the club. From that moment on we felt rushed. We played 18 in 3:40.
An economical option in the season
The Palm Aire Palms course is one of the Can-Am group of courses in the Ft Lauderdale area, It is one of the most reasonably affordable rounds of golf in peak season that is still a good playable track. The facilities are moderate and dated, but the course is always in decent and playable condition. The greens were faster and better than expected, and a 4 hour 15 minute pace of play for a perfect weather Saturday morning was surprisingly good. The course is very playable. Wjile lined with condos, they are generally set back and do not (or should not!) come into play.. It has a drainage sytem designed to create streams that work across several fairways. Distances to the streams are not indicated anywhere, and I couldnt find anything to ping a rangefinder off of, which forced uninformed decisions from the tee. The drainage system also creates linear water along the side of many fairways and buffer between condos and golf course. All in all a good practice course to work on the swing in the middle of the season that won't break the bank. Finally the course is across the street from the Isles Casino that has a very good NY deli and a trotters race track.
great deal for a great course
pace of play was slow but the course was extremely busy so it's understandable. Great golf course and not too challenging for a mediocre golfer
Very rough
I am a 2 handicap and expected a practice round. This course is great for the old people on a fixed income, but for any good golfer it is almost like going to the driving range. The layout is good and the greens are actually ok. I played it from the tips and that is where the good golfers should. Cheap course and kinda rough shape but it is what it is. The people who play it were very nice. The staff not so much. In the end you get what you pay for...
Overall good course
We golfed a round at twilight rates so price was good, all the staff was great except for the starter, he seemed like he didn't want to be there and was very short with us (cranky) he wasn't going to let us play more than nine holes even after paying for 18, told us the carts have to be in by 6:20 so there's was no time and it was only 5:50 at the turn!! so we played a few more holes then when we returned our cart at 6:20 there were about 20 carts still on the course and still playing. I would play here again but try to avoid the starter as much as possible.
Very Poor Condition and Slow Pace
Many golfers were complaining: course condition is poor. Pace was extremely slow on first 9: some people must have quit as the back nine opened up. Will not play here again for sure. Surprised Clublink would let a course go downhill so much.
Average course
The course itself was a bit rough. The fairways were cut extra short with the ground extremely hard. Very difficult to make good contact with the ball. The workers on the course would drive right in front of you as you were preparing to hit your shot. It was as if you were not even there.
Let the grass grow
Palm Aire Palms is a decent course but they need to let the grass grow in the fairways. Let the grass grow and fill in. It is way to tight and too many bare spots. Take the money you safe by not mowing the fairways so often and work on the traps.
Mixed bag but good value
Of the 3 courses @ Palm Aire, the Palms Course is the most forgiving yet still offers challenges to this 19 handicapper. Several streams and strategically placed traps add to the challenge of this medium-length golf course.
While the greens are in very good shape and roll true, the tee boxes are badly worn and in need of maintainence. The Club should give to building some alternative tees as the existing tee boxes are small and chewed-up.
The course had not received any rain in over 2 weeks and some of the fairways and most of the rough were brown.
It is obvious that the course gets a lot of play most likely due to its central location and competitive pricing.
The pace of play was moderate ( 4 hrs. 15 min.) and the staff was friendly.
All things considered, a good value.
Won't come back
Tee boxes needed attention. Fairway in lousy condition with lots of mud. Greens were spotty with rough spots. Fairly disappointed as it is under Club Link. Really not worth the money.
Bumpy greens
The course has a solid layout and staff. Every green had hole punches that were not replaced properly and we're very bumpy making most of the greens impossible. The fairways were pretty bare in areas where you would be hitting approach shots making it difficult unless you pick the ball like in a fairway bunker.
It took 50 minutes to play 2 holes There were 4 foursomes on the 2nd and 3rd holes It was very frustrating I must say the greens rolled nicely Maybe I'll retrurn when the snowbirds go home
Nice layout.
Slow pace of play when Snowbirds are in town.
Fair value.
Worst experience ever
We had a 1:30 tee time. No carts. When we finally teed off, it took 2:45 minutes to play 9 holes. It was brutal. I went to talk to someone in the pro shop and they basically told me too freakin bad. I have played here 20 times a year for over a decade... and will never book here again. No rangers in sight... terrible.
