Palms at Palm-Aire Country Club
About
The Palms Golf Course is a tract that locals and visitors alike just love to play. Originally designed by William Mitchell in 1962, the Palms was completely renovated by Karl Litton and Lorie Viola in 1996.
The accommodating fairways make it easier to hit your tee shots in play. Once on the 'dance floor', the Bermuda greens roll true and quick.
The Palms Course has a number of picturesque water hazards. As its name would indicate, the Palms features lovely native Palm trees throughout the course.
It is most definitely a true Florida golf course and one, which everybody should put on their 'must play' list .

Expecting More
I was in Florida for a few days and wanted to play a round near where I was staying in Fort Lauderdale at a reasonable price. Based on the reviews, I chose here. A pretty straight forward course except some of the pin positions were ridiculous. There was a lot of water but there was always an out. You weren't really ever forced to hit a good shot. The greens had been sanded and were in average shape at best. Overall the course was just not in as good of shape as I expected. Also, driving range was mats only. Yardage markers were scarce. Can't say I would recommend, but it was passable for the price.
Very fun course in great shape
First time playin here and found it very enjoyable. The course is laid out nicely and has some challenging holes while still providing scoring opportunities. There are some tricky water hazards, best to lay up and not try to be a hero unless you can carry 275 in the air. Greens were in good shape and fairways well kept as well. My only complaint would be that the carts were not equipped with gps, and there is no gps app for your smart phone on the clubs homepage. We teed off at 7:50 and had a good pace of play. I would recommend an early start because when we made the turn after 9, there were probably 4 foursomes stacked up waiting to start. All in all, great course and good play. And thanks to golfnow we got a great deal!
Nice course.
Enjoy playing this course. Great deal. Back 9 tuff !! Will play it again.
Great value.
Course was in great condition. Greens were in great shape.
Very nice track.,.
I played The Palms which was very nice. The greens and fairways were well tended. The course has a nice layout as well. I enjoyed the round.
Palms at Palm Aire
The greens are in better shape than I expected. The fairways were weedy. No golf cart GPS which I come to expect when playing a course in the plus $40 range.
Green
Love it had a great time, I recommend this course to anyone.
Palm Aire Oaks
Course is in good condition. Greens have been recently aerated so will play much nicer in a couple of weeks. Very good value for the money this time of year. Would recommend!!
Vacation golf
The course played fast both because it is pretty straightforward through most holes and because at 745 on the Monday morning we played, there wasn't a ton going on in front of us. Some slightly challenging holes, mostly where the hazards/OB channelled the course narrowly and laterally down both right and left, as well as some well placed water. Fairways were in good condition most places, but some areas had overgrown crabgrass right in the middle. Greens were in quite good shape, although there wasn't much undulation. The staff was nice and they packed my clubs into and out of my cart and scrubbed them, which is always a nice touch. Range let you hit off the grass, but you could tell they hadn't moved their ropes in a while, there was almost no grass. For 25 bucks with a cart, overall a pretty good experience for the casual golfer or someone seeking a course that isn't going to take all their balls. For those elitists/purists, there consider other options.
Good Value
Palm Aire Palms is a nicer course than Pompano Nicklas course and less expensive. Also, even on a beautiful Sunday morning, it was only slightly busy and the pace of play for 4 was swift.
Very nice course
Nice course...very true greens a bit fast which is good. I plan to go back
Fabulous Time
My first time playing this course. Even though we had to wait on a few holes, the pace of play was good. We actually finished 18 in 4 hours and 10 minutes. Want to return to play the other 2 courses. Weather was wonderful. Could not have dreamed of a more perfect day. Even finished with a par on 18!!
needs improvement
Golf Course overbooked took me 5 hours to play a round of golf was waiting on every ti of waiting on every fairway to hit on to the green Ranger came across twice told us that he was sorry he had told the people in front of us to speed up to me this is not acceptable I like to play a round of golf in 3 hours course was in fairly good shape greens were in real good shape but they were slowsome places in the fairways relax and grass need more water but otherwise the facility was in very good shape Halfpenny refreshments plenty of bathrooms Coldwater Michigan Sheen's and coke machines in the middle very very good course yes I would play again
The Palm
Not bad for the $ I would play it again. Greens are new, hard and slow..
great course
this course was in good condition. The greens are in very good condition. The course was also challenging but not difficult. This was a fun course to play and I will definitely play it again.
Great course for an relaxing round
I took my friend for his first time golfing here, and everyone was very courteous. We played 9 holes (no 9 hole pricing, unfortunately) in 2 hours and 10 minutes, playing best ball, with him teeing up every shot except for putts. Would highly recommend as a great round to start off your golfing in the Ft. Lauderdale area!
Les verts étaient très beau mais passablement lent
un des terrains à jouer si vous êtes dans les environs
Beau terrain, mal entretenu
besoin d'un peu de rafraîchisement; les tertres de départ n'ont presque plus de verdure.Les chemins pour les carts sont cahoteux et des gens se promènent avec leur chien sur la terrain.
Good enough to keep coming back
I found out from the pair we were teamed up with that they renovated the course last year. It explains the greens being in very good shape. We try to get out early in the day and we always see the maintenance crew when we do. They are working hard on this course which is great to see. Greens are an 8, Fairways 9, Bunkers 9. I hate it when the bunkers are in bad shape because I always struggle when its muddy, clumpy or just poorly maintained. As challenging as some of these bunkers are, I can always get out in one because they are consistent. You just don't see that with public courses.
I love this course even more than Mighty Oaks because it seems to be a touch more challenging (I haven't played Cypress yet). In any event, you can't go wrong at Palm Aire.
Only negatives are the usual pace of play. Nobody monitors pace of play (at least often enough) so bad golfers have slowed us down a few times here and they need to do something about the 19th hole. C'mon, all that square footage and all they have a sandwiches in cling-wrap?
What a great golf course
We really enjoyed the layout of this course. Greens are in fantastic condition. It is very challenging but now overwhelming for good golfers we will definitely play it again.
