Oak Valley Golf Club boasts the only Arnold Palmer-designed course in the Winston-Salem area. The course sprawls across what used to be old dairy farmland, nestled in the North Carolina foothills. Palmer utilized the rolling, wooded terrain and transformed the site into one of the Triad’s most scenic golf courses. The layout presents many challenges, including strategically placed sand traps along the undulating greens. You will also come across a fair amount of water hazards throughout the golf course. Palmer, known for his "go for broke" playing style, incorporated several interesting risk-reward holes and it has become what the course is known for. Good drives will be generously rewarded while an errant shot will make it tough to even get a bogey. Oak Valley Golf Club is a favorite among local golfers.

Courses was nice, customer service not so much

The courses was nice, I would have given them a better review but the customer service has to be factored in. We played at a very good pace of play finished in 4 hours. Called to inquire about a lost headcover and the “gentleman” LC (not sure of the name)hung up on me. I Asked if he could check with the cart peopl and I would call back later before I drove the hour and 10 minutes to get it. He starts reprimanding me about my responsibilities and hung up on me. WOW!! I don’t care how nice your course maybe your customer service should be close or on par.

What every golfer needs

Consistency.

Oak Valley is a constant on my list to play. Always beautiful, as a well kept course should, you will have good conditions no matter the weather. Like any course in poor weather, Oak Valley will have it's challenging spots, but will always be fair and you know what to expect every time. The greens right now are a point or two slower, but they are growing beautifully and rolling true after a top dressing a few weeks ago. (I played then, too. Your ball rolled smooth and never picked up sand. A testiment to the grounds crew.)

Play it! You'll enjoy your round.

Great round of golf

Played at 8am on a Sunday. Was an unusual chilly morning in May. We went off after a member 4 some.

Was almost a perfect round of golf!!! I played with a buddy of mine and we took our time and did not see another group behind us all day. Finished the round in 4:15. I have played here many times over the past 15 years and I can honestly say that the course is in the best shape I have ever seen. The Greens were like carpet and the speed of them was great. Would 100% recommend this course to anyone.

Great course

Course is well maintained. Tee boxes to greens all looked good. Greens rolled well! Pace of play was a little slow but with the COVID everyone is playing golf. Started on time and finished in 4:15. Great course overall

Oak Valley is in great shape

I have been playing Oak Valley for over 15 years. The course is in the best shape I have ever seen it. Every thing is great from tee to green. Good spring weather has help, but the course is also very well maintained. Good job Oak Valley.

Tricky Course with Elevation Changes

Tons of unique holes at Oak Valley, with tons of doglegs and elevation changes in both directions to challenge golfers. It was quite wet after a few days of rain the week prior, which didn't drain very well. But conditions were very good, the price ($39 on a Sunday afternoon) was very fair, and the practice facilities and clubhouse seemed nice. Not sure it measures up to some of its neighboring courses (Tanglewood and Salem Glen), but it's a fun option for a good day of golf.

Wonderful Course

A spectular course. Several sets of tees for all levels of skill. Greens were smooth and fun to putt. Visual and challenging course that rewards a good shot. While you can see the trouble doesn't mean you won't find some. Bunkers are deep but fair. A hilly course that's enjoyable to play.
