Oak Valley Golf Club boasts the only Arnold Palmer-designed course in the Winston-Salem area. The course sprawls across what used to be old dairy farmland, nestled in the North Carolina foothills. Palmer utilized the rolling, wooded terrain and transformed the site into one of the Triad’s most scenic golf courses. The layout presents many challenges, including strategically placed sand traps along the undulating greens. You will also come across a fair amount of water hazards throughout the golf course. Palmer, known for his "go for broke" playing style, incorporated several interesting risk-reward holes and it has become what the course is known for. Good drives will be generously rewarded while an errant shot will make it tough to even get a bogey. Oak Valley Golf Club is a favorite among local golfers.

Great Palmer Layout

Wonderful Palmer course and always a pleasure to play. Course in good condition for the time of year with greens in good shape. I wish they had over seeded fairways. The only gripes I have was allowing walkers before noon on Sunday and allowing 2somes to go out early. Otherwise a quality course well worth playing.

It's ok

Glad I got to play here...especially for free with my 2 free hot deal rounds. Course is nice and greens were very well maintained. We were constantly held up all along the course. Didn't see a ranger anywhere. Slow slow slow play here. Maybe it was just when we were out there but I have heard the same from others that have played here. I wouldn't mind paying what they wanted to play there but if it is going to take over 5 hours without stopping at the turn...you can keep it. It's a shame because the course is so nice. Maybe we will give it another shot soon...just not too soon.

Played after aeration.

The first time I played the course it was darn near perfect. I shot ok and found it to be a good layout.
This, my second visit the greens had been worked, and putting was less than desirable. Still a great time.

Great Value

Played on a Saturday in August for $24, can't beat that. Course is beautiful and fun to play. It's a fair layout with no hidden trouble. Fairways were in great shape. The greens had many unfixed divots from other players that affected several putts. That was annoying, but otherwise a great course.

In great shape, fun to play

Really enjoyed my outing last weekend. Pace was a little slow with a twosome behind a threesome behind a foursome. Course was in great shape and was a fun play. The only thing that would have made it better would be a lower score, but I guess that wasn't the course's fault. Greens were a little unpredictable (some fast, some slow), but I felt like they played true to my reads. Overall, it was a great value for the amount paid, and I will definitely be back. Worth the 25 minute drive because I pass several far inferior courses on the way. Would fully recommend to anyone.

AWESOME COURSE!!!!!

Had a friend keep telling me how much he thought I would enjoy this course. Finally got the time and a great hot deal as well to go play it with him. He was right!!! Absolutely loved this course course. Staff was extremely friendly. Course was in great shape. The two of us finished the front 9 in just over 90 minutes and the entire round in about 3 1/2 hours. Even though this was my first time playing here i still had my best round of the year. If your a high handicapper you will still love this course. Although this course is challenging even if your a high handicapper you should still have fun as long as you play from the appropriate tee boxes. There is nothing bad I can say about this course and I am itching to go back. Will definitely be making this one of my regular courses to play on.

One of the nicest courses around

I love oak valley. I have played it twice and enjoyed each round. The greens roll true and you can shoot a good score if you hit decent shots. Finished with the same ball I started with. Very fair course. Big drives can really pay off.

driving range and putting green right next to 1st hole; convenient

Great time! Blues were 6400 yds, I like a course that gives you challenging holes mixed with some that are very manageable, this course does that. You grind a few out and then it lets you breath for a couple. The water and bunkers are placed where you can get into trouble but leave you significant space to avoid them.
GREAT TIME!

Very wet but excellent greens and fairways.

Starter was extremely pretentious but club house staff were great. Good rate through golfnow. No beer girl out on course. Normal rack rate too expensive.

Great Course in great condition.

Tough 7th hole for the first time player. It helps to play the course a couple times prior to know its good spots.
