Just, WOW
For those of us who are used to playing flatter courses, the course was a beast. Tons of elevation changes and fairway slopes. It is visually beautiful with lots of animals helping us play. The course was in very good shape. The next time we are in the area, we will play here again. I want to try to get even.
Beautiful scenery!
This course is amazing!! Only wish it was closer to where I live. The condition was perfect tee to green. Very fair and enjoyable. Nice seeing so many Deer on at least 1/2 of the holes we played. Can’t wait to return to this gem!!
First Class
The most fun course that i have played. Course layout is beautiful the wildlife is amazing and course is in great shape. Cant wait to get back and play again real soon. Hour and a half drive for me and was well worth it.
Width and Angles
Connestee is a sneaky good golf course for better players, all while being purposefully set up for your older, or more average golfer. There are whiffs of classic architecture all over the place, with big fairways and some small, tricky greens. The penalty for missing greens isn’t usually too awful, but the penalty for missing fairways is a little bit tougher. They rule what most course say is out of bounds as lateral hazard, which I think is smart for this kind of golf course. It definitely speeds up play and retains pertinence of accuracy. A good example is the par 5 15th. The tee shot invites you hit Driver as hard as you can, with a big fairway and a few dozen feet of elevation loss. However, that elevation loss shrinks that fairway considerably, and you can be in the lateral hazard pretty easily. But then you’re hitting your 3rd shot like your 2nd and the chance at par is still palpable, though challenging.
They keep the greens relatively slow but this seems appropriate for the size and slopes of the greens. If they got those greens fast I don’t think anyone would really enjoy that (masochists though we are).
Overall, it’s a great country club course that they graciously make available for the public, and it’s a great course for an advanced golfer to check all facets of their game. Combining this with the accessibility of this course to beginners (couldn’t help but notice the junior and family tees (AWESOME)) and the reasonable price point, Connestee modestly presents what more golf course should strive for.
Great Course
Awesome course that was in excellent condition. Fairways and Greens were in immaculate shape. Even the deers on the course were friendly!!!
Great course.
Great course. The course is in great condition and I will be playing it again.
Great mountain course
Great layout with elevation changes on almost every hole. Course in great condition for this time of year. Good pace of play, friendly staff. Great value and will definitely go back.
Worth the drive
First time to play at Connestee. I live in Knoxville and made the nearly 3 hour drive and it was worth it. Course is in great shape. Greens had been punched about 3-4 weeks ago and were almost perfect. And they are very difficult to read. A lot of subtle slopes. The rest of the course is very playable. If you want to make a golf trip, I highly recommend going here to play. I will be back!
AMAZING
I found a new favorite golf course. The layout is amazing! The conditions were plush! The views were spectacular! I can’t wait to play this course again!
Golf at Connestee Falls
Played on 2/25/2022 and being winter this course was in great shape. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were green and the greens rolled true and were very receptive to approach shots. The greens were a little small and rolled around a 10 downhill and a 9 if you had a uphill putt. Saw around fifteen deer and one white squirrel on the course. The layout of the course was great. This will be a definite play when visiting Asheville again.
Good course, bad players
Course was good, unfortunately suffered a common occurrence with most public courses these days which was playing as fast pace single getting stuck behind threesome of beginners who had no concern for letting me play through despite waiting on them at every tee box with no one ahead. Staff was very nice and course conditions were good considering weather and time of year.
