Lochmere Golf Club
About
Located near the banks of Swift Creek, Lochmere Golf Club has plenty of water incorporated into the layout, coming into play on nearly every hole. The golf course stretches across a lush, gently rolling landscape sprinkled with mature trees and ponds. The terrain showcases the best in Triangle golf. At just over 6,600 yards it is not particularly long, but it provides plenty of challenges. It is a tight course that will test your accuracy with narrow fairways lined with trees. The small greens that are heavily protected by well placed bunkers demand thoughtful strategy and pinpoint control. The golf course offers a fair challenge but it is still accessible for beginners, especially from the forward tees. Lochmere G.C. is a favorite among Cary locals, both for its enjoyable design and its affordable rates.

Slow
Course very nice conditions, but extremely slow-
4.5 hours. No ranger.
Green course
Tee boxes, fairways, & greens we're all watered and green. Well-maintained course.
Exceptional staff. Even offered Holiday cookies at the clubhouse on the turn.
A pleasure to play this course.
Will definitely play again and again.
Need to manage slow play
Enjoy playing the course but slow play seems to be an issue at this course. This time on a Sunday night for tee off at 6pm everything was going smooth until we hit hole 5 where it became backed up waiting for two groups of 6 youth ~8 years old playing a match play tournament or league of some sort. On hole 6 there were 3 groups of golfers waiting to tee off. We decided to skip the rest of the holes and go to hole 10 where we finished up our round. It’s great to promote youth golf and have the kids playing but the course should either advise golfers ahead prior to making tee times or don’t allow tee times behind the young golfers. Another option would be to have golfers start on hole 10 to avoid the slow play issue.
Course is short but good value for the money
Course is short but good value for the money course was in good shape the staff was very friendly and they had an excellent pro shop. Will play again thought it was an Excellent valuable for the money
Good course
The greens were air rated 5 days prior to playing but still rolled decently. The fairways were in great shape. Some of the tee boxes need a good bit of work but besides for that the overall condition of the course was good. Can’t wait to play here soon when the greens will be 100%
Much improved course
This course is a much improved course compared to few years back. You want to see it yourself. Really wished a ranger was around when playing behind a very-slow two-some that did not let the others playing thru.
Fun to play
still enjoyed playing Lochmere even though greens were aerated and sanded they putted well had to play front nine twice but for the price it is hard to beat I like the design
Excellent greens
The greens at the course are the best I have ever seen. The greens rival those of some private clubs nearby. The fairways and tees were a little rough but after the cold and wet winter/spring we’ve had, they weren’t that bad.
For the price you pay, this is an excellent value.
Beautiful Layout! Fast greens
Must say this course is in good shape for all the rain we have had. Greens were beautiful and cut nicely. I have played a ton of golf over the years and would highly recommend this course to anyone that lives or is visiting the area. Before we teed off the starter was polite and helped us with some pointers on the course as we have never played. He “thanked us” for coming out and playing the course. Very respectful. Can’t wait to get back and play again!
Lochmere Looking Good
Lochmere is in great condition thanks to the consistent, hard work of Ed Hanley and his team.
Always fun playing there.
Fairways need help
so used to Lochmere being in really good shape that seeing the fairways in kinda rough shape was a shock. Even brought a friend out who had never played there and was a bit embarrassed at the conditions.
Great Course
Enjoyed playing here. Range to warm up and pace of play was great. Played a hot deal tee time at 12:24 on a tuesday for $24. Will definitely be back to Lochmere
Save your money
If you like dry conditions, little grass, much dirt, terrible tee boxes, painful pace of play and ok greens then play here....otherwise pick another course....but not Falls Village!
