Rocky River Golf Club at Concord
About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

Greetings
Person who greeted us was friendly in a sincere way: same with younger guy who greeted us upon completion of our round. We came from Ohio to play a variety of courses in better weather than we have this time of year and were rewarded by the opportunity to play Rocky River.
Excellent Value - Great Layout
One of my top courses for play. Courses conditions continually improving with experienced staff. Course has been widened and overhead trees cleared out for better course growth. Staff is top of the line, friendly and experienced.
The course itself requires both Draw/Fade off the tee and from the fairway. A mixture of uphill & downhill greens as well as a mix of north/south & east/west green layouts. The first 6 holes have a links feel especially if the wind is up.
I highly recommend giving this course a play.
Best Public Course
This is the only public course I have played in or near Charlotte that have green and course conditions comparable to a private course.
Pace of play slowed down on back 9 but everything else was great !
Play Rocky River
Today was my first time playing Rocky River. Friendly golf shop staff & starter as were the three other golfers in my foursome. Pace of play was fine. Greens were very nice, but a bit slower than they looked. I took several photographs on the course with its surrounding landscape. Looking forward to my next fun day at Rocky River Golf Club.
Excellent greens/Emphasis on approach shot placement
Teed off at 940am at 28⁰F
-average rollout on fairways even with freezing temps night before
-greens on the harder side but ran true and could still hold spinny shots
-pin location this day was expert level, on highest tier of green tucked close to steep dropoffs (making it very challenging for pinhunters and golfers with little to no discipline
-saw course marshall 3 times which is great for a public course
Love this course....
Yesterday's round was a little rough due to the cold temperatures and cart path only restrictions, but still an enjoyable round.
Cart path only
The course was completely dry but for some reason it was cart path only I’m 56 and my friend I was playing with is 78 and the other pair was in there 60’s it was tiresome and became frustrating and when I asked the Marshall if we ride 90 degrees he said no he agreed with me but said it’s not his call I felt horrible I put my older friend through that and will never play there again.
This course used to be a great condition.
Since it’s a winter time, course is pretty wet and fairways are muddy. Greens are in great condition as always.
Rocky River Friday
Course is very fun to play, play several time a year there! Kept very nice, and like the distance display on carts!!
Awesome
Course was in great shape for winter golf. Greens were best in the area.
