About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

Beautiful Course and great value with fast and true greens!
I love this course! It is a challenging course with a great design presenting a new and different feel each time you play it. The back nine is my personal favorite. Brian is friendly and professional and Christine makes great drinks and always greats you with a smile.

Great Track
Helping some new golfers explore courses, this is one of my favorites in the fall. Challenging, some good views, fast but true greens and doesn’t overcharge. They keep play moving as well - 410 round on Black Friday was a pleasant surprise.
Great condition
Tee time at 2 pm. Ran out of daylight, course is in great condition, but will play there again
Great Course!
Overall, this is a great course, and a great day out. The course is in great condition, it is perfect for all players (beginner and advanced). The tee boxes are well maintained, fairways are great, and greens run fast! Staff was great (cart lady could have been a little more enthusiastic to sell beer and earn a tip - I asked if she takes cards and the response was “sure, but I have to fill out a form” I said if it is easier I can just wait for the turn to which she said “sure” and drove off - only negative to this course).
Great course, would recommend, and looking forward to coming again (and buying beer from the clubhouse).
Driver friendly course
Very fun, but maddening if you can’t hit a very far tee shot. Lot of long par 4 and par 5 holes make distance off the tee vital to make par. Simple yet challenging layout and well kept conditions make it an enjoyable round. Plus if you’re a nascar fan, you can hear the cars at the nearby Charlotte motor speedway while you’re on the course.

Beautiful course. Fairly tough. Thick rough and fast greens. Some holes narrow and require accuracy. I will play it again!
Great track!
One of the best public courses in the Charlotte. Played it multiple times, always happy. Greens were in phenomenal shape and rolling great.

Rocky River is one of my standard "go to" courses when the itch hits me!
I play today (11/15/20) and the course was in great shape - except where there was damage from the torrential flooding on Thursday this past week. I have no doubt this will pass and the course will return to its former glory.
I encourage anyone not familiar with this course to give it a try - truly delightful.
