About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

At the Top of Public Courses in Charlotte Area
My son plays weekly here and I join him on numerous occasions. The course is well managed and in top shape--a top public course in the Charlotte area. The staff is excellent and cordial. Our "home course"---and we have visited MANY in the Charlotte area.
Perfect Course Conditions
The fairways and greens are in perfect condition. Pin placements can provide challenges. Nice mix of wide open fairways and challenging tee shots. Have played the course multiple times and the pace of play is very comfortable. Enjoy!
Rude and deceitful
Course is average. Staff is rude and steals items left behind from golfers by mistake. Forgot my $120 jacket in my cart which had to be cleaned ....and my jacket was not found. Called and Bill in club house said he would go and ask and would call me back. He never called back to say if they found it or not. I had to call back and Bill hung up the phone on me. So much for honesty and being a gentleman in this sport. I will never play there again and I will recommend to all my golfing friends not to play there as well. I love when people show their true colors and this golf course showed me that as a paying customer....I didnt matter.
This could not be further from the truth. Yes, the jacket was forgotten and left behind but was found the next morning. With over 150 players per day, items are left ALL THE TIME, and we have no need or intention of keeping them. If found, we are always glad to get them back to the owner.

Course is in great shape right now. Holes are fun and challenging Big greens so be sure to narrow your focus with approach and pitches.
Why haven't I played here soone
Used to play this course alot but it has been years and I am at a loss for words as to why. I love the layout and scenery. Conditions were excellent. Only complaint was pace of play. We we're a threesome playing green tees cart path only and caught a twosome walking on #9. From that point on it was a 5-10 minute wait on every tee box. Saw the ranger quite a few times and he apologized for pace on the back but said we would still finish within their recommended pace of play time.
Always in great shape
I absolutely love this course and it’s always kept in such great condition. No brainer anytime you want to play
Challenging Holes
Course offers challenging holes. Greens were in excellent condition and super fast. The course took on a lot of rain over past couple of days that made two holes (4 & 5) unplayable and ranger there to direct players to hike 6. Quite a bit of standing water but was able to play on and hit decent shots

Fun place to play. Fairways and green in very good condition. Surrounding areas poor. Take extra balls.
Consistently in good shape
Have played RR for a couple of years and even when we venture out to others venues, we play RR generally ever other time from other courses. Enjoy it, walked it when weather cooperates.
