About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

the entire city just aerated
Looks as tho this is true everywhere. Rocky had at least 35-40 landscapers on hand, all working on something! Very nice to see bc in 2 weeks this place will sparkle again.
Excellent Conditions Always Expected
I've played Rocky River numerous times and every time it never fails to offer an excellent experience. The layout is fun and challenging. The greens are smooth and fast. I'll be back to expect more of the same.
OverBooked on the 4th of July
The course was double booked with tee times from 9am to 10:40 which was my GolfNow Tee time. Didn’t tee off until 11:45 and it took 3 hours to play 9 holes. Than it looked like storms were coming in. We only got to hole 12. To much lightning in the area and we could not even make it to the club house before the skies open up with massive rain. GolfNow should refund this entire round since they overbook this course, and we were not able to completed our round. We could have gotten our round in if GolfNow had not overbooked Rocky River.
Fast greens !!
Great condition and greens were very fast and beautiful. This is an interesting course which plays fair.
We were rained off, so couldn’t finish- we will certainly be going back!

Always a great play no matter when—I played here all winter and now summer...solid! A few days after rain...solid!
BEAUTIFUL
Rocky is just amazing!! I’d say give it another few days the greens were recently sanded(I’m not sire what that’s called) but still played beautifully. I love this course.
Rocky River is one of the best courses in the Charlotte area. The layout is wonderful with many unique holes that are challenging yet very playable. Overall the greens were in great shape less a couple holes were sod had to be replaced. I think I could speak for my group when I say that we really enjoyed playing Rocky River are only frustration was with the pace of play. We advised the ranger on a couple of occasions but yet we waited on almost every tee shot. Including par threes where there were. often two groups backed up . We will definitely come back to play Rocky River again in spite of the very slow pace of play.
Nice Course
Another great course in the area. The greens were very nice. Still needs a lot of work on the tee box. Concessions are very expensive.
The greens are in great shape and fast, you need to play from the right tees it can be a long course. I really enjoyed the course and I’ll be back again.
Always treated well semi private
The fluidity of the ever changing life on a golf course requires I review after every round I play. People have bad days, landscapers don’t show up for work ya da , ya da...NOT at Rocky river! The ladies and gentlemen in the pro shop always treat me w respect and truly seem to care about if “I had a good time or not” . loaning me golf clubs to test before I buy. Not to mention the course is just bustling w life right now. Greens r a challenge and the layout is one of the best on a semi-private course. Rocky rivers amenities align EXACTLY w private clubs I’ve been to. This place is a gem the ppl r solid just wanna say thanks.
Greens rolling true
This is nothing new but the greens at Rocky River are some of the best in the area when it comes to public courses. They are faster than most, but roll true!!!
Great Municipal Facility
The course layout and condition was excellent and a great value. The only reason I downgraded it to 4 stars was the pace of play. It was a five hour round and there was no action taken that I saw to get it moving better. Otherwise, it was one of the better municipal courses I have played. And I have been playing for more than 50 years.

My title explains it’s all! Aside fr the fact it’s one of the nicest courses in Charlotte w great facilities. These greens r in BEAUTIFUL shape making this a challenging track w some very difficult holes. I also wanted to thank the ladies and gentlemen in the pro shop who took the time today to fit me for a driver. This place is truly a 5star experience and is worth cost of admission.
Way over priced
This is a great course, but way over priced for a municipal owned course.why not a $25 rate for seniors during the week like all other courses in the area. We drive 15-20 miles to play other courses for much better value. This course is only 3 miles from my house.
Staff sucks
Greens are great, but the staff is horrible! Not worth the money.
