Westport Golf Course

Worst shape I've seen a course in ever. 20 years of playing. Needs lots of TLC. Wouldn't go back unless there was a huge overhaul of the grounds staff.

This course is tough to begin with since it has a lot of hard dog legs that are less than driver and that typically leaves you with a mid to long iron in on par 4s . But, they have Bermuda greens that are dormant now, which wouldn't be so bad except there were a lot of little sprigs of grass growing all over the greens. Oh yeah, the beer was hot too. Good thing it was inexpensive to play.

Course was in decent shape for this time of the year. Greens were pretty bad. Lot of rain lately so I guess that had a lot to do with it? They were “fuzzy” and very slow. Cool layout. Lot of doglegs that really made you think about club selection.

It was 36 when we teed off and you wouldn’t have known that for how the course played. Good release on shots and the course played nicely.

Greens were in rough shape. They had a lot of weeds on them. Not crazy about the layout. A lot of bear spots in the fairways as well. Not worth my time or money.

Upon arrival, Monty, who is a retired vet, explained where we needed to go and explained the first few holes to my fiancé and myself. He also told us the about any specials, and just made us feel welcomed. Thank you Monty!!

Course played great today. The greens are in good shape for any time of year.

Nice staff, Very helpful . Great value . The course has a nice layout. Very dry and could have used some water. We will be back.

Got paired with a great guy! He made the round enjoyable. The course is always fun even though it is not the best. It’s always a great place to play. Greens are in great shape.

Great course and in great condition. Love the snack bar. We booked a tee time on the day of the club championship unknowingly. Staff was pretty pushy due to this reason (understandable) guy checking us in said had the nerve to say the course was set up for the championship so unless we moved up to gold tees it would be a long day. (Guess he thought we couldn’t play) and then said “make sure you can keep pace”. Seemed kind of rude to me. Im not sure why they post tee times on here on days like this cause I felt like we were just in their way until we got ahead. But other than that it’s an awesome course.

The greens was the highlight of the day they rolled fast and true but as far as the rest of the it was pretty much beat down. The tee boxes was like cement the fairways was a burnt reminder of how hot and dry it has been the bunkers was in fairshape but still pretty hard. They really need a driving range not sure why they dont have one.

Super friendly people ate this nice but challenging course. A couple of the greens and tee boxes need work but over great value

Fun course with an interesting layout. Greens were pretty smooth but slow, fairways were not in great shape. If you get a good deal or looking for a quick round it's worth it, will be back on occasion.

Great golf course. A few bare spots in the fairways but they are mainly off to the side and not an issue. The layout is sort of quirky but makes it fun and easy as well as having ample chances to stop at the snack bar for drinks. Staff is great.

Friendly and accomodating staff. The new burmuda greens were in good shape, yet rolled slow. There was very little grass on the fairways, and they were very dry and hard. Not sure how much if any water was applied to the fairways yet the greens looked like they had ample water.

The course doesn’t have fairway irrigation which makes it tough during the summer. Some great shots wound up bouncing and going into the trees or water. Greens were pure, and staff was great. Would recommend when it’s not the middle of summer.

First Time playing this course. Teed off 2PM Saturday afternoon and had no problem finishing 18 in 3.5 hours. The Greens were absolutely perfect!!!! Spongy And Smooth....every put rolled true.

Now for the Negative...the Fairways were hard and bare in some spots. It was obvious their money is spent taking care of the greens and the tee boxes and fairways are on their own. That being said, still way worth it for the price!!! I’ll play it again for sure!!!
