Westport Golf Course

Here are some pictures to illustrate an example of poor integrity and craftsmanship for a golf course highlighted by GolfNow. The Superintendant and attendant on duty at this golf course knew that the course and greens were horrible. I am certain the conditions have not improved. My friends and I drove 1-2 hours to play this golf course on Memorials Day and I personally was totally embarrassed of how we found the course. It was me who invited the other guys to accompany me at this golf course. The name of the golf course is Westport Golf Club Denver, NC. There were nothing mentioned on the website that the course was in a state of repair. If there would have been some notifications, I would have selected s different course. Golfers play at your own risk.

The greens were dead; you were basically putting on dirt. The employee who checked me in was unfriendly and discourteous. I emailed the course the following day informing them of my unpleasant experience and, to date, have not received a response. I won't be returning.

Yeah it was only $17 to play with my GolfNow discount, but I wouldn't have paid $1 I have been playing this beautiful game for over 35 years and I've never played on greens that poor. yes I know the weather has been crazy and there not the only course in the area that's lost their greens. But I have played a few city courses in Mecklenburg County over the past week and they are 10 tiimes better than Westports. I really wish it had been disclosed when I was booking that the greens where like the Mojava Desert.. And the fairways are hit and miss ( mostly miss ) I would call before I booked and they are very honest about the course after you book and arrive.

The course is just in really rough shape. You can’t putt here, period. Staff was super friendly and honest about course conditions. I wouldn’t recommend this course in this condition.

Greens we’re kicking up dust (literally) they were so dry. Water erosion throughout the course. Front desk was no help and rude. Course is not being taken care of. Seems like they haven’t watered it, ever. The starter was great and was the only good part of the day. Won’t play here again...

Nice layout, with exceptionally fast greens. Fairways are slow growing in but common for all courses in our area.

Slow play , expect 5 + hour rounds on Saturday. Many blind shots combined with slow play causes group behind to hit into you 3-4 times a round, at least the group behind us did.

I’d recommend it for change of pace, ie not bombing driver off every hole.

The club house staff was rude and made me feel like I should not be there. The starter was very polite and helpful.

Course at the lake had lots of hills and bends, big greens with fast grass ........ too fast for comfort but were true. Good price for Seniors. We will be back!

I know its only February, but overall the course was in poor condition and I can't see it coming back anytime soon. One positive note was the greens were in good shape. No driving range. I will not be giving this course another chance.

Im not a great golfer i nomally shoot high 90s, but dont let that look over this course. The course was in great condition for the time of year. The greens rolled fast but if not in the right spot it can be like playing loony golf. Practice your long irons. A lot of 190 yard shots followed by a 150 to 170 yard shot in. There's a lot of blind tees shots too. It was challenging but fun.I will be back to play aging

This course is a great value and the tract is pretty good.

Good layout with some good risk reward holes. Greens are in great shape for this time of year. Always enjoy playing here.

This course was and extremely tough course. The greens were fast and not level. The putts were mostly uphill or downhill. Blind tee shots and water hazards. Very very challenging.

Fun round! Fairways and greens were in graft shape! Pace of play was slow.
