Westport Golf Course

Temporary greens! No putting!! Nice layout but it really needs work. It should be better in a few weeks according to staff.

I've played here many times usually love it. Did not see a course alert that there are 15 temporary greens! The rest of the course was in horrible shape also. Not worth even the $20 that we paid. Stay away for 5-6 weeks, unless you're desperate!

15 out of 18 temporary greens! Plus, some of the locations of these crap greens were pretty dumb. Fairways in average shape at best, first cut & rough not very well maintained. Now I know why we got a HOT deal....Best thing they could do would be to shut down until the course is back to normal. Normally a bad day of golf is better than most things but not this round....Terrible....

I find it hard to understand why a course that is so burned up and under repair, that they would not make sure the golfers would know this before they tee off. The shop was pretty arrogant and stand offish., I am sure there is local farm land that would have been better to play. I also wasted some hot deal credits on a sorry course.

Fun course to play but the greens were in the worst possible conditions

The greens are horrible. They are all brown. It's like putting on ice. The fairway is like hitting outta the rough.

Course should just close for MAJOR REPAIRS.

Why would someone open a course with NO GREENS.

Even when you call ahead they don't mention the poor condition. That would be appreciated

I've played at Westport at least 5 times in the past year. The staff friendliness has always been moderate which I can get over but this time was different. It's simple, I wanted a blue Powerade, he argued for 2 minutes saying they didn't have any when I walked by the drink machine two minutes prior. Many of you probably think, "who cares get over it!" I'm in customer service and instead of arguing, go check and you would've realized I was right a lot quicker.

As far of the course conditions, the fairway was like hitting it out of the first cut of rough but it was green and lush. The greens were attrocious! Dead or dead with patches of grass so there were no one putt opportunities. This was not disclosed on GolfNow nor in the clubhouse.

I've had better experiences here so this was a disappointment.

I have played this course in previous years but this year the greens were in horrible shape. To the point that some greens didn't have a blade of grass, just dirt. I understand courses go through maintenance but I never would have driven from SC had I know the greens were in such bad shape. I checked the website before I scheduled the tee-time and there was no mention of the greens condition. I hope they get the greens fixed for in the future.

We have golfed this course many times in the past and loved it. This time the course was in horrible shape!!! The greens were all dirt!! This was one of the worst courses I have golfed on. We were told after we played that they were going to repair the greens on the 20th of this month. Why would you wait another three weeks to fix it??? It was a waste of money golfing on such a terrible course.

Unbelievable....that this place is open and charges people to play golf. Greens are dead or dying, actually the dead greens are better than the ones with patchy bermuda. The fairways are like an uncut lawn with poor drainage. A worker was putting new sand in a bunker and my thought was, "why bother?".

Even if this place were in perfect condition the layout is terrible. I can usually find some charm in any golf course but this place is ready for the bulldozer and repurposing.

GolfNow should protect their reputation and remove this course from their roster.

The Superintendant and attendant on duty at this golf course knew that the course and greens were horrible. I am certain the conditions have not improved. My friends and I drove 1-2 hours to play this golf course on Memorials Day and I personally was totally embarrassed of how we found the course. It was me who invited the other guys to accompany me at this golf course. The name of the golf course is Westport Golf Club Denver, NC. There were nothing mentioned on the website that the course was in a state of repair. If there would have been some notifications, I would have selected s different course. Golfers play at your own risk.

The greens were dead; you were basically putting on dirt. The employee who checked me in was unfriendly and discourteous. I emailed the course the following day informing them of my unpleasant experience and, to date, have not received a response. I won't be returning.

Yeah it was only $17 to play with my GolfNow discount, but I wouldn't have paid $1 I have been playing this beautiful game for over 35 years and I've never played on greens that poor. yes I know the weather has been crazy and there not the only course in the area that's lost their greens. But I have played a few city courses in Mecklenburg County over the past week and they are 10 tiimes better than Westports. I really wish it had been disclosed when I was booking that the greens where like the Mojava Desert.. And the fairways are hit and miss ( mostly miss ) I would call before I booked and they are very honest about the course after you book and arrive.

The course is just in really rough shape. You can’t putt here, period. Staff was super friendly and honest about course conditions. I wouldn’t recommend this course in this condition.

Greens we’re kicking up dust (literally) they were so dry. Water erosion throughout the course. Front desk was no help and rude. Course is not being taken care of. Seems like they haven’t watered it, ever. The starter was great and was the only good part of the day. Won’t play here again...
