Westport Golf Course

Tons of trees getting cut down. I don’t except much from a course charging in the $50 range but the conditions were not great. I like to give the benefit of the doubt and anticipate conditions getting better once construction is done.

Not a good maintained course. Tee boxes, fairway and greens are not well kept. However, relative to nearby courses it’s weekday pricing is fair for practice type rounds.

Trees have been cut down throughout the course and just left there. Piles at end of fairway as shown in picture. This place should probably close and do a major overhaul. It’s bad!

Course is getting tress removed to allow sun to get onto course . Good value for rock bottom golf . Greens putt well .

This course needs to be shut down for renovations. They lost their abc permit but didn’t notify you until morning of round. I won’t plan on going back anytime soon.

The course is in decline. I hadn’t played there in about a year. The fairways were overrun with tall grass, I lost a ball in the fairway and had to spend time looking for my balls in the fairways. The greens were in poor shape and they are cutting down trees all over the course that didn’t help. I won’t play there again.

I am a Charlotte native and have played the vast majority of courses in Charlotte and the surrounding areas. This is by far the biggest rip off if you want to play and enjoy golf. You can travel anywhere within 10-15 miles of Westport and pay the same rate for a round and have much better conditions. I've never wanted to leave mid-round and the conditions of the course almost influenced me, it was that bad. Hit your drive in the fairway? Good luck trying to get a descent lie with actual ground underneath your ball that isn't dark clay. I will never be back and think it's a waste of money to play at Westport due to the conditions. Greens were the only bright side and they were still not cut recently. You can tell this course needs love and care.

This course was in terrible condition. They had cut a lot of trees down and have pretty well destroyed the course. Paid $28 on GolfNow and that was way too much. It appears that they don’t mow the fairways and greens. Go somewhere else to play golf.

This course is in rough shape. However, they are clearly making efforts to remove diseased trees that have affected the turf all around. Greens are shaggy, but are growing in consistently. Tough to get a decent lie within 20-30 yards of any green. Tee boxes need some love. I hope it will be in better shape in the next few years.

Didn’t find out course was under construction and was back 9 only until I arrived after driving 40 minutes. Young guy working front desk seemed like he was forced to be there. I walk into the clubhouse, nobody there but him and he didn’t speak much less greet me until I said what’s up man. He said it’s back 9 only today, gave me my cart key then went back to his paperwork. Not looking for a red carpet rolled out but at least point me in the direction of #10 tee box, because with all the trees down you had to drive over tree limbs on the cart path to get to it. Get to the tee box and there’s a huge tree down blocking 50% of your drive, plus the dozer running nonstop so good luck off the tee. Since you play the holes twice that’s 2 tee boxes that are chalked. Greens had also been aerated in the past week and lots of bare spots in the middle of fairways. Might want to wait 3-4 weeks till they can get the course in good enough condition to charge $30+

Front nine is closed because they cut down all the trees and it a complete mess. They said it was done to improve irrigation but you can see all the tees lined up for taking to the mill. They did it for the money. When I called, they never said anything about having to play the back nine twice. Even the back nine was in terrible shape. Find another course.

This course is in dire need of some major attention. Don’t go here if you want to improve your game. The fairways have little grass and the greens aren’t much better. There is some major tree damage on the front 9 and this course is bad.

Golf course is great. Logging is only helping in my opinion. The down hill holes that just g into a hazard are disappointing but I’m sure people figure it out.

Worse than all the reviews say. It’s not worth $20.

Course is in terrible shape! You can’t tell the fairway from the rough. Bare spots everywhere, and they are in the process of cutting down trees. They have everyone playing the back nine twice because of the trees,, and this was never stated on the website.

When attempting trying to play the second nine, there were 8 carts in front of me. I quit!
