Westport Golf Course

This course is all about value. They have recently invested in the greens and it shows. They are beautiful! You just have to bring your own leaf blower for an early morning round. The fairways and tee boxes are pretty rough but there is hitable grass to be found. The rough is covered by 3-6 inches of leaves which makes it hard to find your ball should you leave the fairway. The layout is challenging with elevation changes on fairways and creek beds that require some course management as you play.

If I bought this course. I would buy a leaf vac first. Then invest in the fairways. Needs a clubhouse remodel but it’s not a country club.

I don’t mind playing this course in the spring/summer but winter golf on this course is frustrating. It’s extremely difficult to find your ball even if you hit the fairway because the leaves are everywhere. Some of the Tee Boxes that were covered in leaves and the majority of the fairways were full of leaves.

I’ve played here many of time but this time was not acceptable. Leaves were everywhere. You hit a fairway and next thing you know your ball is hidden. Can’t find it.

I get that it’s fall and leaves fall but you have blowers driving around not doing much. Mow the leaves if the blower isn’t working.

Do not waste your time and money!!!!! Fairways are the equivalent of blocks of dry clay. Greens are the equivalent of putting on concrete. Useless landing a ball on them because they just bounce off like a basketball. Played 5 holes and left.

Played today 10/5/23 and was pleasantly surprised by how nice the greens were. Fairways and some tee boxes could be improved but overall the course is vastly improved from just a few weeks ago.

The greens were in horrible shape, with some of them even being washed out or no real difference between the green and the fringe. A lot of really hard ground and hard dirt in the fairways a storm has passed through a few days before I played, and they had yet to clean off any of the greens from a ton of debris which made it impossible to putt. Wouldn’t recommend this course for the price. The first hole was backed up 10 groups deep.

My sons & I have played here several times over the last few years. Really nice layout but the last couple of times we played there it could have been in better shape. Greens were inconsistent and the fairways were in bad shape. If someone bought this & put some real money into maintaining it a bit better it could be one of the nicer courses in the area. I know it was Labor Day weekend but $40 per round was a bit steep considering the shape it was in.

The layout of this course is great. You will get a chance to play many different shots. You will need some course management. There are dog legs rights and lefts, creeks, and ponds. A few blind tee shots. The greens were slow but fair. The fairways are not country club level but we found them very playable. My foursome had a great time out there and would definitely play there again.

The course had a nice challenging layout, however the fairways were in really bad shape. There were huge spots of dirt everywhere. The ground was very hard. Greens were extremely slow. If this course was $30 to play I would say it is great for the money. But it was not worth $49.

I like the layout of the course no two holes that are the same. The cart paths near some trees need to be repaired. The fairways need a better grass for this type of soil after they are smoothed out. The greens were just punched so they were slow. For the price and to play at the last moment Westport fits the bill.

Course is decent layout, pace of play was terrible on a Saturday morning. Price was not worth the overall condition of the course to be honest. Probably won’t play here again.

It was once a really nice course but has fallen down. Theres not a lot of grass in the fairway and some of the greens were bare. It seems like they are trying to get it back in shape but it’s not there yet. It was cheap on a weekday morning only $30 and for that price it’s totally fine.
