Good bang for your buck
Well maintained course. Some very fun holes but also some very boring holes. 6.5/10
The pace of play wasn't pleasant because they allowed 5some and yet these guys won't let the 2some behind them. Also no one is fixing their divot on the Greens. Every hole i fixed 5 or 6 of these. Some fairway grasses are dying too. These are the reasons for my 3star rating.
Golf Experience
This is the first time I've ever submitted a review. I played Broadmoor on Sunday 9-6-2020. I've played the course many times and I like the course. I have always thought the course has been maintained year after year. The only negative thing I have to say is the fairways were not in the condition they are normally in at this time of year. It could be due to all the rain we have had. I have no problem paying higher greens fees for good course conditions however I don't believe the holiday rate is in line with the current course conditions.
A break from the uphill / downhill lies of most Asheville area courses!
Greens were in very good shape and rolled well. A few bare spots in some fairways! You wouldn’t want to play here after heavy rains or during a rainy period! One goofy par 5 on back nine (Zig, Zag hole) 180 yard lay up off the tee, 180 yard second shot (9:00 to your left) and 3rd 180 yard shot (3:00 to your right) across water to the green. Otherwise nice course for the money!
Rainy start
I have wanted to play this course, but am well aware of the wet conditions so waited to book a tee time after a day or two of no rain. Well, as we are teeing off the first tee, the rain started. Teeing off the 2nd tee, it was raining pretty hard and very wet. The ladies in front of us took shelter under a tree, but we were already wet and chose to play through. The course is beautiful, challenging, and a lot of water holes (which led to more than usual lost balls). There was a lot of water on the fairways and greens, even as the sun came out. Feet were soaked, which makes for a squishy, icky day. I will play again, but will wait for the drought.
Going downhill fast
I have heard good things about Broadmoor for years. So we finally drove 2 hours to play it. What a waste. Apparently the airport nearby just bought the course and who knows what they plan to do with it.
Course conditions were mediocre at best. Weeds and fungus all over the course from tees to greens. Way overbooked and pace of play was terrible. There was even a Starter and the pace was this bad. At one point there were 5 groups on the same hole. We quit after 12 holes.
Ugh
CPO. Fairways in lousy condition wet or not. Too many ball marks on the greens to even count. With 2 groups waiting on the 10th tee, one in the fairway and one on the green, we bagged it. The course is not getting any better post-sale to the airport authority that’s for sure.
Always enjoy
The golf course was in very good shape considering all the rain we have had this year. My wife and I played. Pace of play was good. Definitely worth the money!
Water water every where
Good course in great shape. Lots of water. Pace of play can be slow.
Good for the Money
I took my 10 year old son out (tees off from the 150 mark). The jr price helped. The fairways had too much crab grass and were not mowed to an even height. I like the layout of the course and it will be a great place to play once the do a little more lawn maintenance.
Nice track worth a try
I am an RV’er who enjoys playing golf around the country trying different courses. This was a pleasant surprise. Very friendly staff and patrons.
I got paired up with another single with a 7:32am tee time. We played in 2 hrs 40 minutes.
Course in good shape, some fairways a little thin but greens were FANTASTIC!!! Not a lot of elevation which I was surprised at, but lots of risk-reward jokes.
Overall, I wish I had this course closer to my home, so I could play again. Oh, and my playing partner named Greg and retired Air Force vet and retired Park Service Employee was a great guide and playing partner.
