Ryder Golf Course

If you have never played it... do it. It's in fantastic shape right now.

If you are not stationed at Ft. Bragg or work there, you have to go to the visitors center to obtain a daily pass. As an avid golfer whom has played at a lot of "high end" country clubs in the area, the Ryder course is a steal for the money, they could charge double and it's still cheaper than Anderson Creek, Tobacco Road, etc. Are the tee boxes in great shape, no, but on a scale of 1 to 10, there are a 7. Is the fairway in the best condition, no, they could have done a better job cutting, but it's a 6 or 7. The greens are decently quick and they are all "turtleback" greens, so make sure you're putting uphill if not, the ball is gone. Are greens the best, no, better than RGA, but I'd give the greens a 7 to 8

This course is amazing for the price. It's every bit as nice as Lochmere in Cary, and better than Eagle Ridge (which has gone downhill). I highly recommend.

5-Stars (the review form wouldn't let me click the stars for some reason). We played the Ryder course. The course was in great shape- fairways were a 9 of 10 and the greens were quick but not too quick. Very well maintained. Once you're off the fairway, well, that's your fault so just give yourself a decent lie and keep going. I was so impressed, especially for only $30! Is EVERYTHING landscaped and perfect? No. Is the clubhouse impressive? No, it's a military base, not Pinehurst. This is a great place if you're a new golfer as the level of golfer out there is generally lower and or casual. Cool to be on a military base. Just know that you have to register at the main visitors center- they refer to it as 'The All-American Gate". You just show your driver's license and that becomes your 6-month pass. Built in a little extra time to do that.

I don’t know what Snekdad or whatever is complaining about. Is it the nicest course? No but by the standards of most of the courses around Fayetteville with $30 green fee w/cart it’s pretty darn good.

I'm not sure who these people are leaving reviews saying the course is in such "great" shape. It's not. It is what it is, which is a hundred-year old muni. Decent amount of grass on the fairways and the greens have no dead/patchy areas but "great" is a major stretch. Since it's such a vintage course, the greens are tiny and have crazy turtleback contours which is cool, but since the greens are so ridiculously slow it basically renders all that null and void. Get out the mower and the roller! Other than that, pace of play was awful with more than one five-some out there so I guess people do whatever they want out there. Front nine had a more interesting layout than the back. Got a great deal on Golf Now which is why I took a 75-minute drive to give the place a try but once is enough. However, if they ever cut the greens then I would say for $30 if you're within a half hour it's worth a play. However, leave extra time to deal with having to stop and get a visitors pass to enter the base.

It was a well kept course and great conditions. The greens are tough, very challenging. The staff were friendly and the amenities were great. The price cannot be beat for how nice the course is. The only thing I did not like about it was how the carts would shut off and only allow you to revers if you went somewhere they didn’t want you to. At one point I was on the cart path and it would still beep at me and only let me reverse. I called the shop and they reset it quickly.

The greens and fairways were excellent. Beautiful course and an amazing value.

Course is always immaculately maintained. Pretty challenging layout with an increased challenge of the green slopes and breaks. No real need for driver to score a decent round.

Everything you need! Draws, fades, strategy! This layout is perfect for building your golf game. Greens are a true test of your patience and skill. The team here has done an amazing job with course management! If they keep improving this will be one of the best courses in the Armed Forces! It’s is already the best value in Fayetteville! Thank you.

I called at 4:00 and got a 4:30 tee time and showed up a little late and I was the only person who seem to bothered by my lateness. Staff are all extremely Friendly. There was a single in front of me and a twosome In front of him. After getting sandwiched, I joined up With the guy in front of me after a few holes. I had a great time watching the group in front of us hit 100 yard Tee-shots. The course is a challenge and there aren’t many areas to miss. Greens were beautiful Fairways fantastic. There is a lot more trouble than you realize on every shot. I can’t remember having such a hard time finding a ball that I missed the green by 5 feet. Many of the greens are tiny especially 9. One thing to be aware of is the fact that the tea boxes for the next hole are very close to the green you’re hitting to. No being familiar with the course and many of the shots being blind or hidden by a tree I am very glad that I didn’t kill anybody. Seriously, 10 feet long (left or right) and you’re hitting the group in front of you teeing off. If you miss on the opposite side of the cart path you are F’d. This course is far superior than the Stryker.

Good looking course. Expected slow play on a Saturday but still a great day overall

This course is immaculate! Very challenging and makes you work on all aspects of your game but forgiving fairways. The greens are very challenging depending on pin placement! Love the course my favorite in Fayetteville! My only complaint would be if they had food not snacks even if it was just a hot dog. Stars is very friendly and carts are great and comfortable. Totally recommend to anyone to play this course just get you a pass to get on ft Bragg at All American gate it’s really easy.

Turtle back greens with true false fronts make it a challenge to shot a low score especially when front pin.

Not a terrible place to play a round of golf, the course was pretty great. However, the pace of play was really slow that day, as military courses tend to not have any real “marshal” presence during play. The downside is this is that you might end up with a group in front of you that instead of taking the relief from hitting OB, they just continue to hit from the tee box, even though they’ve already launched three balls into the woods. Beginner play is fine, but if you’re taking multiple mulligans, you might want to go on a slower day than Sunday. The pace was so slow at this point, a guy walking the course was having to wait on us at nearly every hole.
