Anderson Creek Golf Club
About
When Anderson Creek Golf Club first opened in 2001 it was immediately recognized as the "Best New Golf Course in North Carolina." The course was designed by 1997 PGA Championship winner Davis Love III, it was his first signature design in North Carolina. It has a traditional layout that epitomizes golf in the Carolina Sandhills. The layout features rolling emerald fairways lined with towering pines and undulating greens bordered by large roll-off areas, a tribute to the classic Donald Ross designs that are prevalent in the Sandhills. The challenging golf course has tricky doglegs and there are a variety of elevation changes throughout. Water comes into play on a few holes at Anderson Creek Golf Club, most memorably though on the par-3 fourth, which demands a carry over a large lake. Strategically placed bunkers also lurk along the greensides.

Just Bad Timing
Let me say this first: I gladly drove the hour to Anderson Creek because it has always been one of my favorite places to play. And it will remain as such...just was bad timing for the Course and my Tee Time.
Periods of heavy rains just prior to the day I played, combined with a well-noted period of extreme drought conditions spanning weeks prior to the heavy rains, combined with what seemed to be a recent punching of the greens, brought about my "Average" Course Conditions rating. I know that the grounds crew can only do with what they are dealt weather wise.
Greens conditions definitely cost me a number of strokes, as many of the aerification holes were not (no longer) filled with sand, so they were very bumpy.
Fairways were in good shape considering the recent drought. Tees were more than fine. Bunkers were inconsistent, but again- the area had very hard rains just days before. Restrooms were open on the course and stocked. The beverage cart made numerous passes throughout the round.
Guy in the Pro Shop was overwhelmingly welcoming. The new carts are top notch. And the range was well appointed.
Our foursome played in under four hours...on a Sunday... I will take that every time!
Friday 9
5 classmates from SC met here to start our golf weekend!! Staff was friendly and course was in great condition. We played 9 as we all had travelled in the morning. We had a blast afterwards since it was karaoke Friday at the clubhouse.
Great deal and excellent day
Decided on Monday I wanted to try to play Tuesday. Snagged a "Hot Deal" via Golf Now. I got to the golf course early. The guy in the pro shop asked if I was ready and, if so, I could go right to the first tee. The started stopped my, but then let me go off alone an hour ahead of my tee time. Had the course more or less to myself and did not catch the group ahead until #15. Course is in good shape. Some fun holes. Not really hard, but certainly not easy. Greens ran true and hit some decent putts. Played from the Gray (senior) tees, which are nearly 6,000 yards, so not picnic. My neighborhood group has played here and will try again. Overall great experience, particularly given the great price I got. Somewhat of a drive from the Raleigh area, but worth the drive.
Anderson Creek - Always a relaxing, yet challenging experiencing
Relaxing. Why? During the week, I have experienced no delays or slow play. We turned 18 in a little over 3 1/2 hours. Challenging. If you are out of the fairway, you will pay the price.
The course was in good shape for these current drought conditions. They were watering mid afternoon, keeping the greens in nice condition.
I would play this course more often if it weren’t a hour away. Great bar and restaurant area with good food and beverage specials. I highly recommend this course and the facilities. .
Nice ciurse
Nice course, in good shape. Good clubhouse bar and ok selection of drinks available through the beverage cart attendant.
Fun Track
Really enjoyed this course a few holes you have to shape your shot to score well. Great value
Firm Fairways and Greens
This is a good layout and I have been here several times in the past, but this visit the course conditions were a little rough. Fairways need some TLC, greens are pretty good and pretty firm and fast. Tee boxes are good. Staff is great and value is worth it. They need some rain bad. I hope they get some grass growing a little thicker on those fairways.
Good place to play a round
Always enjoy it here. Course is in good shape, the people are friendly, and the price is very reasonable. With that combination, why wouldn't you play here?
Anderson Creek
Aweful course. They decided to aerate the greens a the day before and didn’t tell us when we checked in. Looks like it could be a nice place but currently I wouldn’t waste me time.
Anderson Creek Golf Course
Great value. A little far from home for daily play, but well worth a 50 minute drive from Southwest Wake County. During the week, you can turn 18 in less than 4 hours. Middle of a drought, course was fast.
