Anderson Creek Golf Club

About
When Anderson Creek Golf Club first opened in 2001 it was immediately recognized as the "Best New Golf Course in North Carolina." The course was designed by 1997 PGA Championship winner Davis Love III, it was his first signature design in North Carolina. It has a traditional layout that epitomizes golf in the Carolina Sandhills. The layout features rolling emerald fairways lined with towering pines and undulating greens bordered by large roll-off areas, a tribute to the classic Donald Ross designs that are prevalent in the Sandhills. The challenging golf course has tricky doglegs and there are a variety of elevation changes throughout. Water comes into play on a few holes at Anderson Creek Golf Club, most memorably though on the par-3 fourth, which demands a carry over a large lake. Strategically placed bunkers also lurk along the greensides.

Great and challenging course. Must play to test your game.
I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to challenge themselves. It is a really tough course, but fun course. Very tricky, and requires you to think about what clubs you’re using off the tee box. The range and practice greens are great. Club house is great. Conditions are usually really good, green’s aren’t the most consistent, but they are always in good shape.
Great layout, bumpy greens
Their airation efforts was several days ago, looks like no top dressing was applied and the greens are bumpy making putting a poke and hope.
For the price, I would wait for fall to try it again
Beautiful course was a great surprise!
Well worth the 25 minute drive from Pinehurst/Southern Pines! $50 a round on weekdays and$75 on weekends makes this one of the nicest courses in the area below $100 a round. Great golf carts with GPS. Tees and greens in great shape too!The staff was professional and friendly. Nice snack bar and beverage cart girl was around whenever you need her! I look forward to playing this course many times!
Bad shape
Course was in the worst shape that I’ve ever seen it in bunkers fairways terrible
We felt pushed even-though we finished in 4 hours.
Enjoyable Course but Difficult
We played in 95 degree weather with almost no others playing the course. The rough is extremely difficult to find a ball so if you play make sure to only hit fairways and greens.
Staff was great and we really enjoyed playing here.
Decent layout, condition poor, reflected in green fee
Cannot argue with a $50 weekend greenfee but clearly the course condition is struggling . Not talking about greens that were recently aerated but so many bare areas around fairways and greens and bunkers were shocking .. we gave ourselves GUR. Interesting layout requiring shot shaping both ways making it fun. If you go expecting a causal round then enjoy, don’t expect prestine tees/fairways/greens
Recently aerated greens
Punched greens a few days previous Slow and bumpy. Bermuda rough needs to be cut down a little. Sometimes hard to find ball right off fairway. Al in all good test and layout.
Really enjoy the layout of this course
It is very fair with fairly wide fairways and greens were in great shape. Although they were a little slower than I prefer.
Golfing in the Pines
Pros…….Greens in good shape. Course layout is very good. Cons…….Sand bunkers and fairways need some attention. Cart path only not disclosed at time of booking. Overall I like this course and advise everyone to stay away from the pines.
Great layout needs maintenance.
I love this course, it’s challenging and frustrating on its own design and when properly maintained. The rough around some greens and other areas near play is well past due for a cut. Some areas were wet however most were not, especially near the green and looked about neglected for two weeks. Bunkers were washed and flooded which seems the norm here now, unfortunately there are a ton of them on this course. Not every bunker but most. Really disappointed in the scalped holes on the green. Either they mowed after they cut the hole or these were yesterday’s pins which I wouldn’t expect on a Saturday. The fairways were in very good shape as well as the tees and the greens were quick and pure rolling. This place is a real pleasure to play in the summer, this was my first time playing in the spring here and it is night and day for conditions. It certainly favors the hot and dry weather.
Andersen Creek Golf
Everything about Anderson Creek golf club is great except the bunkers. Many of the bunkers I saw were wet and had pools of water in them..
