Cleveland Country Club

Played Cleveland Country Club for the first time in a while. Got a tee time on golfnow. The course has always been private, and at times truly a private club. However, they have fallen on hard times for a while now, and honestly, if you are selling tee times on golf now you are not a private club. The course was busy, and it appeared to me they had sold alot of tee times on golf now. Anyway, I was pretty impressed with the condition of the course. Fairways and tees were starting to green up, and the greens were in really good shape. Pretty firm and fast. Its an older course, and the layout to me is a little quirky. But not having played it in years, it was fun. $65 on golf now is a pretty good price I felt like for the condition of the course. And I will play it again sometime for sure.

1 is a dogleg right par 4. Straight away leaves you around 125 in, but it helps to hit a fade.

2 is a medium length par 4 with a pond at 100 yards from the green. Green is shallow and well bunkered.

3 is a short par 3, all carry over a small pond.

4 is a par 4, kind of up and down and back up. There is a creek at the bottom of the down part you cannot see and can cause some to hit less that driver.

5 is the only par 5 on the front. Like 4 kind of up and down and back up. Got to be on the right section of this green and below the pin.

6 is a short par 4. Pretty tight, with a pond covered the left 2/3 of the green.

7 is a very short, very tight par 4, but it plays very steeply up the hill to the green

8 is a long par 4 that moves right at the end, the green is elevated way above the level of the fairway.

9 is a shorter slightly uphill par 4.

10 is a longer dogleg left par 4.

11 is a medium length slightly downhill par 3. Cannot go left. and right isnt good either. LOL

12 is a blind downhill par 5. Almost a ski slope hole. You lay up down at the bottom, then its straight uphill over a creek to a green you cannot be long on.

13 is a steep uphill par 4.

14 is a par 4 back downhill, then straight uphill over the same creek as 12.

15 is a doglegs left par 4. You have to hit less than driver, tee off at the top of the hill. Hit about a 180 shot at the 150 line on the cart path. If you can aim at that and draw it a bit even better, but dont fade it or the approach will be much longer.

16 is a long sweeping dogleg left par 5

17 is a medium length par 3, got to get it on the right section of the green.

18 is a medium length par 4 to finish

Course has been a mainstay in Shelby for nearly 100 years. Greens were in great shape and for early spring, the fairways were nice too. The only drawback was the course does not have a range. And just a small practice green.

The course and greens are in great shape,Had a wonderful day.Would recommend this course.

This is the 4th time I have played here and it only gets better each time.

If I lived closer I would join this club.

Do yourself a favor and book a round ASAP

Fairways and roughs improving from winter conditions. Sand traps still the best in the area. Greens are firm, still needing water, rolled true, were medium speed. Overall, a challenging layout.

My golf group of 4 had an excellent day at Cleveland CC. The pin placements were tough because of a tournament they had in the morning. Always challenging. The course was in great shape for this time of year. Thank you teeoff.com for allowing us to play this private course.

A challenging course, especially the back down where you are forever hitting way uphill or downhill, but that is part of the challenge I suppose. The greens are really challenging as well, especially for a first time on the course.

All in all, a decent track at a fair price - although the pace of pay was simply dreadful with groups stacked on top of each other.

Great round at Cleveland Country Club. The course was in great shape after the winter storms. Greens and fairways were excellent for the rate.

Found this course and was awesome. Great greens, nice fairways and great layout.

The only issue today was walkers , singles so pace of play alittle slow but a great layout and greens very nice
