About
This Robert Trent Jones Sr. design is one of the area’s most venerable venues. The fluid beauty of MetroWest provides for a challenging but playable experience. Wide rolling fairways give all levels of players the opportunity to find the short grass, and the four sets of tees working from 7,051 yards down to the 5,325-yard forward tees make hitting greens in regulation a reasonable endeavor. No push over, though, bunkers seem to anchor every corner on every dogleg and elevation changes of up to 100 feet in some circumstances tug back in the course’s favor.

Golfer Reviews
Horrible
I've played here a few times and this was my worst experience. Grass was so high that I couldn't find balls in the light rough. The pace was bad and people in front of me were beginners at best. This course used to be good but, it's going downhill.
Needs attention
Any type of maintenance, or showing you care would really help bring this course to life. In its current state, I think a cow pasture might give you a better round than this course. Hopefully things change soon
sad state of affairs
I can't believe the disrepair they have allowed this track to fall into. Greens are brown. Fairways are patchy. Anything not fairway (and even some parts of the fairway) completely overgrown. One of the greens on the front 9 appears to have been vandalized. Bunkers are full of dirt and weeds. Just absolutely sad.
A little disappointed
I remember when this course was exceptional. Now there are weeds in the fairway along with bare spots. Rough to way too rough. Greens were ok. Rough was way too deep. On the par 5 on the back, the fairway didn't even start until 150 yds from the green. The same with the short par 4. Too many weeds and way too deep.
You can do better at that price point.
A slap in the face of Robert Trent Jones Sr.
Conditions were horrific. Fairways are dirt. There’s more grass in the bunkers than the fairways. Tee boxes are overgrown and lumpy. And they are pushing way too many people out there. Five hour round yesterday. It’s a real shame what the owner has allowed to happen here. Avoid at ALL costs.
Getting better
The course is slowly making progress as far as conditions. Greens were rolling well just a couple little spots with bumps and fungus but overall great for the cost.
Awful condition
Awful condition on the tee boxes, fairways and overall of the course - will though say that the greens are pretty good.
They’re working on it.
The workers are out there. The greens are good, for the most part. Bunkers, lake banks, are being cleaned up. The work is starting to show. Right now it’s far from pristine, so if that’s what you expect for $30-40, you’ll be disappointed. If they keep up the hard work, the great layout under the weeds will still be there.
Check back soon.
Gone downhill some how.
Review is same as title of review. Course was in better shape last month. With all the rain how could it be getting worse? Less than a dozen cars in parking lot when I got there. Booked as a single, no one on 1st tee but the starter runs out and says I can't ride alone and I have to wait for another single and ride with a stranger. Have played there at least once or twice a month all summer and never been forced to pair up when it's not crowded. Won't be back after this. experience.
Not worth the price
Most greens are ok, some are not.
Tee boxes are not ok.
Most fairways are in bad shape, the rest are worse.
I played here a few months ago and it was not great, but it was ok, now it's amazing how bad it got. Definitely not worth the price at this moment. Hopefully they can get it back to good shape
fix it up
the lay out of the course is excellent the staff were excellent but the course the fairways have little to no grass most bunkers have grass in them better to make it a grass bunker
Awful conditions
Avoid this course for the next year. The course conditions are the worst I’ve seen in Orlando among the non trailer park courses. They have now entered that category.
Never Again
I've lived in Central Florida most of my life and finally decided to play Metrowest Golf course. Big mistake! Our group of 4 reserved an early tee time and we were sent off on time. What happened next (for the next 4 hours) was not good in any way! The tee boxes were some of the worst I've ever seen. Not cared for, weeds growing, sandy. The fairways were definitely the worst I've ever seen. Same as above...not mowed, not cared for, weeds, weeds, more weeds, and nothing I could call a fairway. The greens were the only positive part and it was still bad. None of our group rolled anything close to what would be normal. Thick and slow! The only green worth mentioning here as attractive was the 18th, only because it is what you see coming in. I honestly dont know where the money you pay for a round of golf goes...it certainly doesn't go towards maintenance on the course. The staff was welcoming as we arrived. I appreciate the friendliness they showed. It was professional and polite and gave us the idea that our round was going to be wonderful. It was anything but wonderful! This course was a bad experience the moment we reached the first tee box. Even if Metrowest were to offer a complimentary round...I would decline it! I usually do not write a review this critical but something needs to happen at Metrowest Golf. Something to improve it, or, close it!
Course condition
I don’t recommend at this time .The fairways and some greens need a lot of work
Unfortunate
It’s a shame this course has gone so downhill. Once a favorite of our group’s rotation, now we won’t be back for at least 6 months.
The fairways don’t exist. All weeds and sand. No telling rough from fairway. No sand in bunkers and all sand on tee boxes.
The one saving grace is most of the greens are in great shape. A little slow but rolling nicely.
The biggest issue was pace of play. Behind a bunch of 2somes and 3 somes and took 5 hours to play. Longest round ever played in my 10 years in Florida. To be fair, it normally is 4 to 4:15 at this course. Only takes one group to slow up the whole course but no ranger to mitigate slow play.
