Played in 3 hours!
You can't put enough value in pace of play. We played 18 holes in 3 hours. Apparently that's the norm around West Orange The course is going dormant and the greens were still in good shape. First time playing the course and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to teeing it up again.
A Must Play!
West Orange CC is always an enjoyable experience. Great layout, while a tad on the narrow side. Just played on and the course was in great shape. They recently punched the greens so I'm told they will get even better...although they seemed great to me. Beyond just being a really fun course, what I love about playing WOCC is how relaxed and friendly the atmosphere is here. You can't go wrong with this course. While it is a private course, I believe if you call the pro shop, you can likely work your way on for a reasonable fee during certain times of the week. 5/5 stars from me.
Not in the best condition that I have seen the golf course. The greens were in tough shape with most of them having sand throughout. They rolled okay, but not what you expect at a private club in January.
Pace of play wasn't very good, but really enjoy the course layout. Hopefully the greens come back like they were when i played it previously as they have nice contour to them. Great closing stretch as well.
Good bones point toward some potential
Mid-20th-century golf courses are often criticized for being relatively unimaginatively designed. In West Orange's case, that's only half-true, and fixable.
It's true that golfers don't encounter a hole that is not dead-straightaway at WOCC until the short par-4 16th. It's true that several fairways are so extremely tree-lined that even a slight miss leaves no chance for an exciting recovery shot.
But it's also true that the set of greens at WOCC is well above-average in terms of interest for a course of that vintage. They are small and undulating in varied ways, such that approach shots must be played with some careful planning. This adds considerable interest to a course that at first blush looks relatively mundane. Another point in the course's favor: it is compactly routed and is therefore a very pleasant walk, which is rare for Florida.
With some tree clearing, fairway expansion and selective and strategic bunker adjustment
Course Conditions are Average for this Time of Year
For a private facility, I expected the course to be in better condition during peak season but unfortunately the greens need some work. The layout is fun and challenging, which is a plus. The staff was friendly but the bar/restaurant wasn't open at 11:30. It was a holiday so II understand but they were moderately busy so there was a miss on some additional revenue.
Great course for the money !!
Perfect family country club! Whether you are a scratch golfer to a high handicapper, women or a man this is the place to play. Private club with 300+ members is a great place to play or just use the practice facilities. Pool and tennis courts are high quality or just enjoy a cocktail in the grill room. The golf course is well maintained and is home to PGA, Korn Ferry and Symetra tour players.
Really enjoyed my first experience at West Orange. It was a fun layout that had some quirkiness to it. It reminded me of Rio Pinar with how you could hit into the trees and still be able to play it out. Greens were in great shape and rolled nicely. Highly recommend checking this place out if given the chance.
Played here with a group of 8 guys. Course was firm and fast. Layout was enjoyable.
Less than 3 hours. Every Time
Love this course. Greens in great condition. Always a quick round.
Fun playable course
Played WOCC for the first time last Saturday My kids take golf lessons with Brendon Chase every Friday, but I've never had the chance to play. Thankfully my buddy joined and invited us for the first time last weekend.
Course and greens were in good shape. We had a great time and would definitely love to play it again.
Great course, great staff
Played this course a week ago and didn't have a great experience. The manager called me after and assured me that what I experienced was not norm. He invited me to play again and I did. Our round took 2 1/2 hrs and we did not rush. Course was in very nice shape. Tough, true greens and beautiful fairways. I cannot say enough good things about the course and it's people, including management. Thanks George for a great golfing experience.

Great Challenge
Been a member for a number of years and its never been in better shape. Fairways are nice and think, greens are perfect, and the staff is second to none. Look forward to seeing you out there.
A hidden gem in Winter Garden
A great private country club with a long history in the West Orange County area. Course is an anomoly for central Florida with tree lined fairways and easy to walk. Always in excellent shape. Fast and true greens. Multiple member games each day for all skill levels. Fellowship can't be beat. Many athletic and social amenities, including tennis, swimming, dining and bar. Chef Michelle and the entire staff are magnificent. A true departure from slow, daily fee golf. No tee times and rounds are typically 3 to 3.5 hours. Truly a hidden gem in Winter Garden.
This is a course to be a member at
Great games here daily. Course always in excellent condition. Trash Games, Skins, Points, two ball, there's always some type of game to get into with the members. Members are friendly and welcome all, just a great place.
What a hidden treasure
I have lived in West Orange County for 13 years and could not believe the quality and improvements that this course have undergone in the past 12 Months. I loved it so much I joined the club in February of this year.
The Course is always in fantastic condition the greens are beautiful, putting on these greens gets you spoiled, they are fast with plenty of break. Fairways, tee boxes, practice area, all TOP NOTCH. But Pace of Play is one of the reasons I love it so much, the members have multiple games going most days, and I have played in foursomes that have finished in about 3 hours.
After your round the grill has great food and friendly staff that have been with the club for years. I think it says something when a staff has been in their same job for years about how they are treated by their employers. However, the best thing about the club is how family friendly the place is. My wife, children, and I are making some wonderful memories and we all are so happy we have such a great place to enjoy.
A place to join!
West Orange is a neat and friendly private club without the air of a the typical "private " club. Very family friendly and always in great shape, this is a club where you don't need a tee time! Good food and generous drinks add to the value.
Hidden Gem
If you live or work in west Orange County then you should be a member here. The club is family friendly and the facilities are top notch when you consider its non-pretentious atmosphere. The golf course is in excellent shape and well maintained, the pool area has been refreshed and the staff is friendly and courteous.
THIS IS A LOW HANDICAP GOLFERS COURSE
COURSE HAS NARROW FAIRWAYS AND SMALLER
THEN AVERAGE GREENS. NOT A LOT OF HAZZARDS
OTHER THEN TREES LINING THE FAIRWAYS. PLUSH
FAIRWAYS BUT DEEP/THICK ROUGH. FAST SMOOTH
GREENS. EXCELLENT GOLFING EXPERIENCE.
