Hyland Golf Club

After looking for decent public golf in Pinehurst, I finally played Hylands and now my search is done. The course was in great shape. No burned out areas and I never felt I had to improve my lie. The greens were punch 3 weeks ago but they rolled true and ran at least 11 on the stimp. It will take some time to get used to the speed but they were fantastic.

I will NEVER use golf now again. If you book one of their 'Hot Deals' and have to cancel, you never get your money back. You get a credit.

I was visiting from out of town, rented clubs and played the first tee time 7am on a Monday in August. Called the day before and the pro shop guy was acting annoyed for me calling and asking questions. The rate was $90 bucks with a cart. I spent another $60 to rent clubs, cheapest sleeve of balls and some tees.

The tee boxes and greens were in terrible shape. The rental clubs were worse than a Thrift Store. I knew I wasn’t golfing Pinehurst but for $150 this was shameful. I love a cheap course with imperfect conditions but this was not cheap.

Layout great. Fairways and bunkers in good shape. Greens had been punched a week or 2 earlier. So they were rough.

As someone who normally looks for the deeply discounted cheap courses, I took advantage of the holiday golf now 25% discount and booked Hyland as I've been wanting to play it for a long time. I was blown away by this course! The course is beautiful, and I was completely surprised by the terrain. It is as nice as devil's ridge in Holly springs.

I just love this course. One of the best value in the area, even with what seemed to be an increased price range. Staff was friendly, course was in great shape!! Can’t wait to go back.

Driven past it for years and finally decided to give it a go. Course wasn’t packed due to the heat but still had a good number of the morning guys finishing up when I was starting. 2:13 to play 18. I was booking it before the heat got the better of me. Greens are scheduled to be punch the last week of July so they are rolling fast now. Fairways are holding. Seems like they water daily but there are a few dry spots from sun burns. Over all the course itself is great. Only thing that I didn’t like was how short the driving range is. Limited to irons off mats but the first two home the fairways fare fairly open so you can push/pull till you get in the groove. Range balls were free with the round. Overall I play it again during the week when the cooler months roll around. Final 81 with 6 missed birdies putts.

I loved the course layout and the greens were a challenge. The pace of play was not good however. They need let golfers pile up at the first tee and go out in rapid fire. Not great for pace of play. I would play the course again but not when I am pressed for time.

Several memorable holes, definitely a second shot course.

If you keep tee shot in play and can navigate those greens, you should be able to post a good score

First tee time of the day so no issues on front nine but due to double stacking or four hour round turned into a five hour round.

Course was in good condition but layout not that memorable.

Would consider playing again but on at a much lower fee. Didn’t feel in was $150 course.

First Time in Pinehurst Area Played this one. And really enjoyed the layout nice variety of holes very challenging Also played Two other high end courses in the area ( 2.5. X the green fee) if I had the chance for. Another Round I would play this one. Friendly Staff is a bonus!!! J. G. Indiana

Greens are in great shape and tricky. Beautiful setting that surprises once you get back into the hills. Friendly staff. Will be back.

Course was in nice shape. The holes that go around the pond are beautiful with three holes that require you to hit over water. Worth a visit!

We had an awesome time here, immediately wanted to play another 18 after we had finished. Course was in good condition and the greens were pure. Definitely going to be going back.

Played at 3:00 on a Tuesday in 50 degree weather. Literally NOBODY else on the course. Didn't see another golfer until the 15th hole. Very nice smooth fast greens and plenty of wide fairways.

I enjoyed the layout and the elevation. I enjoyed playing this course! Range blass were included in the greens fees and they also have a practice putting area. Staff was friendly! I didn't get any food or drinks but I thinks it's available there.

The negatives: the price, it's too expensive to play often but not expensive enough to keep up with the big dawgs. I was happy to pay 48$ with the golf now discount price but would not play here again at 60-70.

Lower the fees and I would come here often. Carts were in decent shape.
