Really Good course, but I don’t play there much unless I get a great deal on GolfNow

I have always enjoyed the layout and visuals of this course. What was sad and disappointing is it has been let go. The majority of the course is weeds. The greens are beat up and diseased. The rough appears to be mowed every 3 weeks as there are large piles of grass clippings throughout. A number of tee boxes are bare of grass. It appears they are just letting it rip. I had expected the conditions to be excellent after 3 weeks of steady rain. I don't know if the course was let go prior in the drought stages but it's not somewhere I want to play after having played it when it was a well maintained track.

First the good: greens were a good size and in good shape. They also rolled well. The GPS on the cart was accurate and consistent and gave you actual distance of where the flag was positioned.

Now the bad: Fairways and rough were basically weeds throughout the course and the sand traps and bunkers were HORRIBLE. Barely any sand and tons of WEEDS in the traps.

The group I was assigned to (I was a single) was waiting on their third. On the first tee, the twosome schedule behind us pulled up. We allowed them to “play through” not knowing they had been assigned two other players. After they played their second shots, the starter showed up with their other “assigned twosome. He instructed them to “catch up to their assigned tee time. However, he didn’t follow up on this. The second twosome was painfully slow. Our foursome actually had to wait on this twosome many times. The starter didn’t follow through - even while as we passed him on the turn. Oblivious!

With the amount of thunder showers a couple fairways were saturated.

Came from Ohio on vacation to play this course and it’s a nice layout. However course needs some serious TLC, not what you imagine for a Florida course. Lawn guys were mowing right as we were trying to play. The crab grass eats golf balls and is so thick even in the first cut. Greens were slower and bumpy. The best holes were the par threes. Decent course for 50.00 on a hot deal. Not worth the 70.00 regular price

Enjoyed my round but the course conditions could have been better. Lots of crab grass in the fairway, bunkers and rough. Many of the bunkers had compacted sand making a traditional bunker shot impossible. I had three tee shots that tricked into the rough but I couldn't find my ball because the rough was so high. Very frustrating and bad for pace of play. Greens were hard as a rock even after all of the recent rain. They rolled nice though.

Course is in great shape! Facilities are well

I love this course and it is always on good shape. We have had so much rain that it was very wet and cart path only. With that being said, I still enjoyed the day and only lost 2 ball that were plugged and couldn’t find them….lol.

FH is always a good place to play!

Fox Hollow used to be a premier course in the area. No more. The owners are running it into the ground and milking it. Fairways choked with weeds, rough unplayable and apparently uncut-able. Bunkers ungroomed, surrounds a total mess. Several had some vegetation that looked sort of like alfalfa growing out of the soil ( not sure if soil or dirt the right term, but sand it’s not). Greens are grainy and slow, but to be fair, they have always been that way because of the coarse pas palum used there. The members we played with apologized for the conditions, I felt the value was less than average because of the sharp decline of conditions. Fox needs to seriously up their maintenance or this course will become one of many mediocre venues in the region.
