Championship at Seven Springs Country Club
About
Seven Springs Country Club offers two golf courses, the Championship and an executive course. Located in New Port Richey, the courses are just minutes away from Tampa Bay and the scenic Gulf of Mexico beaches. The Championship Course offers a challenge for players of all skill levels, especially if it's a windy day. There are a few bunkers scattered along the greensides but water is the most prominent hazard. There are numerous lakes and ponds throughout that come into play on almost every hole. Towering pines and cypress trees also frame most of the holes. Thanks to the challenging layout, lush fairways, and manicured greens, the golf course has earned the reputation of being one of Pasco County's best. Seven Springs also offers a practice facility with an excellently conditioned driving range with four target greens and a hitting area that is 300 yards in length.

Ok courde
Fairways need some tlc. Most of the Florida courses are dry this time of year. Lots of gators to see. Fun layout.
Course conditions
It is unfortunate but I cannot give this course a good review. I was very hopeful that the 90.00 dollar price to play would be indicative of decent course conditions, but it was not the case. The marshal said the conditions were poor due to time of year but courses within 5 miles of this one are in good condition. The tee boxes and fairways had very little grass and in many areas none at all. I play a lot of golf in this area and it is easy to tell when you come across courses with ownership that invest minimal amounts back into the course. This course has the makings to be a nice and fun place to play but it needs capital and lots of TLC.
Greens and tee boxes in great shape; most of the fairways, too. Rough areas around greens very parched, tough.
Clubhouse staff excellent - courteous and helpful.
Tee off at 12:20, finish at 4:45, few delays.
Nice course with lots of water
We had a very nice time together and we would like to visit the course again.
Pretty Good
Few tee boxes and fairways need some love. Greens are pretty good right now. Pace was decent despite an older 3 ball not letting anyone play through with a few holes wide open in front of them.
Dissapointment
I heard good reviews from friends but when I went to play it, I was very disappointed. For what these courses are charging for winter rates, you would expect they would properly maintain and water their fairways and greens. This didn't seem to be the case at Seven Springs. Many burned out spots on fairways and around the greens, you were luck if your ball was on a solid piece of grass. I understand the roughs being dormant but you should keep up your fairways and around the greens. Greens were fast, a lot of sand and very firm. A little water would go a long way. The ponds were all fun, so it didn't appear to be a water shortage. I got a good rate from Golf Now but if I paid full price, I would have felt like I was ripped off. Just not up to par for the rates they are charging, not even for $54.
Fairways were very spotty. Greens on the fron 9 had been airatted and sanded (not ideal but I know it has to happen), but several greens had a lot of damage to them. I'm not talking ball marks, I'm talking it looked like someone took a club and beat sections of the greens. Groundskeeper tried to make it better., but damage was done. Stopped at the turn to grab a quick bite amd something to drink but the "Turn Bar" was closed. Overall for the price I paid to play, not worth it. Not sure if I will give Seven Springs another shot, I'm on the fence.
Not over seeded
With green fees going up, play up, courses have no excuse not to over seed and maintain the courses. Today was a big disappointment. Most courses have over seeded- but not seven springs- or it was so poorly done, you can’t tell. Asking over $70- I paid $50 due to past 3:00. Greens were ok. Rough was not very good. Layout is well SS. Not be back till I hear they give a crap about maintenance if they want more money. Do better SS.
Jan1 2026 Halfway through a round a father son was asked to leave because of a collared shirt
New years day 2026 I drove 30 min to come golf with my 15 yr old son we got out and had a great round until Lenny the starter spotted a father and son having a good time on hole 10 he asked what time we came out we told him then we proceeded to play then after we finished the hole he pulled up and told us we couldn't continue on since my son didn't have a collared shirt on which was not told to us in the pro shop or at the starter on hole one or when a ranger drove by and said hello on hole 9. If they would of told me I would of bought him one. Lenny proceeded to tell us we could no longer golf. Now I understand the purpose of the shirt but if we are 11 holes in on new years day a father and son ruined the great round we were having he then proceeded to tell us we could get a rain check which we are from Chicago not florida for 9 holes or golf the little course which is not what we paid for Lenny then said he had to escort us like we were criminals of some sort
Horrible horrible thing to do to a father son already on hole 11 would it of hurt anybody if we just finished? Come on I hope management reads these and understands you can't act like that after the fact it was 50degrees when we started and the parking lot was empty. I never write a bad review but this was disgusting behavior for a father son having a blast glad Big bad Lenny had to validate himself on new years day to try to ruin a father son outing, and the best part half the course when it got warmer many had tshirts on today but we got signaled out by a lonely retired miserable man.

Giving this poor review because GolfNow keeps sending an annoying email to rate the course, only this course, getting emails daily
Great Course
This is the second time I have played this course. Greens and fairways are in excellent condition!! Definitely recommend this course
